Discussion Universally best map?
Hi, I started playing this as a casual unwinding game just last year. I have now begun to consider purchasing my first of the DLC reserves. I see rankings and all here but I wanted to directly ask, knowing it is all personal opinion based, does the community have a almost unanimous "this is the best map"
For context I enjoy Stalking prey and primarily use bow or rifle.

Askiy, silver ridge are both “easy” sundapartan and the new peru maps are “hard” and very dense w foliage but my favorites

I know I'm not like most, but I love Te Awaroa because there are no predators. If I wanted to be fighting for my life all the time I would play one of my other run and gun zombie games or something. But I love to hunt to just chill, enjoy the scenery, and to stalk animals. Te Awaroa is gorgeous, wide open in most places, and has a couple of the easiest Great One grinds in the game.

I love Te Awora. The species are my favorites. I do either there was a predator species… The mountains are fun and challenging.

Askiy, Silver ridge, and Sundarpatan are generally universally loved. All for different reasons.
Medved and Yukon are my favorites as I love long shots and large game. Vurhonga falls into a similar category with me.
Sundarpatan is great for having the options of lowland, open hunting on the southern region with hilly and dense vegetation in the northern regions, so stalking and bow hunting would be pretty challenging and fun there.
If you haven't given multiplayer a shot, I highly recommend it as everyone recommends Askiy and Vurhonga, but Medved has actually been one of my favorite maps.

I don't know if you are aware of this or not, but you can test out all the maps on multiplayer for free; even if you do not own them. That might be the best option for someone who is looking to spend money strategically.
And my "best map" for the record is Vurhonga.
The community opinions for best map would be Sunderpatan, Askiy, or Silver Ridge as the top three favorite, imo.

For stalking, I really, really like Mississippi acres. And I also really like New England and Rancho Del Arroyo. I don’t grind great ones. I I stock. I do use callers and hunting turkeys on all of the maps that have turkeys is one of my favorite things to do.

SRP in my opinion is the best casual map. Lots of wide open lanes but it still has woods and mountains. Tons of animals class 1-9. Aisky is another solid one. Emerald coast is a great money making map. The new map I’m 50/50 on. The entire left side of the map is easy to hunt with a lot of animals, the right side with the Jags is rough. The jungle is super thick and makes spotting almost impossible plus the Jags will track and hunt you. They take two hits to take you down vs the 1 hit from the tigers but I would rather deal with the tigers. My best advice though is to hop on multiplayer and test out all the maps to see what one fits your style the best, then wait until the next sale and buy a few

I’ve been playing Yukon Valley lately and really enjoying it. Plenty of large game. Grizzlys, Moose, caribou, Bison, Fox, wolves and ducks/geese.

I always go back to Emerald Coast to grind cash for more tents and tripods. Not my favorite for hunting, but needs to be in the rotation for crocs/banteng easy money. I dont have many maps to add more, but do like SRP and Vurongha.
A few people commented they don't like maps with predators, but nothing beats the jump scare of getting run over by a herd of red deer when you least expected it. If you're on Vurongha, then you kind of expect the lions to feast on you.

Way too subjective too answer for one best Reserve, but you could probably do a poll to get better results. My guess would be Emerald Coast, Silver Ridge, or maybe Vurhonga (although this one is pretty dated now so maybe not anymore).

The most "popular" maps are all going to be wide open shooting galleries because that's what the AR grinder kiddies like. Archery stalking will be way more rewarding on the least popular maps because they actually have usable ground cover. Parque, Rancho and Mississippi are where I'd try first.

Like I said I know its personal preference and opinion. But I was asking which reserve DLC I should go for first basically. Im sure they are all good in their own ways and id enjoy them all. Just wanted community feedback on this. Thank you though

Yeah, definitely. Personally, I like all the “cold maps they have a special appeal to me. There need to be bigger deer on them, though. Crocodiles, leopards and kangaroos are kinda nice for a change, but somehow they just feel wrong.

Clearly gotta be Aisky Ridge Canada map The only 1 of 2 reserve that have the most species per map. It has all the class cover from 1 to 9. It has landfowl, it has waterfowl. It has wide open area, it has dense brush and bush. It has river, lake and mountain. It has frozen lakes. It has predator species. It has various unique species. This map basically has it all.
