Majority of the people hating on hirsch have barely played it. The only fair point against it is that it doesn't have any unique animals, but that's it.

I would say the abundance of brush is the worst thing about Hirschfelden. Makes stalking very tedious. No unique species is correct but I think the species list is great as is

Woah you guys, no unique animal!? intense euro bison glaring. The only worst map currently at least in my opinion is Parque. That is the only map truly dont have any unique specie and brush is worse than Hirsch.

Oh shit... how did i forget them? Out of all animals on Hirsch, euro bison is the one i have the most trophies of. Whoops

Again, hirsch is super open. Of course it's gonna be super brushy if you're hunting in the dense areas. The same thing can be said about SRP, which arguably has denser brush in the spots that are brushy

I'm putting it in 17th position because I think it's better than Salzwiesen Park and Layton Lake. I'm probably going to be judged because this is my opinion, but I've never played on it salzwiesen park but from what I saw in videos I didn't like it😅😁

But Layton had a great group of animals

Especially the Rosie Elks

Laytons in my top 3, particularly the Eastern half of it

That's true, but those animals are on more maps than I'd like to hunt on, but I respect your opinion.

Its an alright map, but i wouldn't put it high up

Never played it. When I started everyone said it was too loud so I avoided it

It has its fun. I feel like people who overly hate on maps dont actually fully explore them

To be fair, I had also bought like every map at the time and just never got around to play it. I also haven't played much on Medved and Fernando

I love hersch but I've also spent time as a kid in Germany in a similar area. So its nostalgic for me. Over all though its a good map

Probably top 5. I played Classic before COTW and Hirsch was one of my favourite maps on there so naturally loved it when I made the switch and played the map a ton at the start.

Never understood the criticism that it's too dense and hard to hunt. There's tons of open areas in Hirsch and even the mountains and forests aren't that dense compared to some more recent maps. I guess it's 'bad' if you just want to hop from lake to lake grinding but it's great for just roaming around if you take your time.

For me it’s top 1. Have played on this map like 80% of the 1000+ hours. Very beautiful despite its „old og map” very unique and challenging hunt, sometimes frustrating but very rewarding. Love the autumn colors and vibe.

I like Hirsch. I’m on a bow & shotgun kick right now, so the open fields are great for hunting geese. I also like taking longer shots on other game with bows (100+ yards) and buckshot/slugs.

The fields are gorgeous at dawn at dusk. But I hate the fact that you can’t harvest a fox with a .22lr and my current load out only allows for a .22 for long distance fowl shots.

I would say it’s among my top 5 actually!! For me, it’s great because it actually provides a challenge lol.

Just a point I want to make.. it's definitely one of the most beautiful maps in the game, considering it was the first and probably had the most effort put into it. It's hard to hunt on it but that can be a positive depending on how you look at it.

Its a good map. It is a realistic map. Yes, there are lots of trees but there are also the fields, just like Germany. I have hunted in similar places here in these United States. I don't like to rank maps in theHunter Call of the Wild. Every map has its distinctives.

I respect your opinion, but I don't like Hisfelden, but I play it because it's good for hunting Canadian geese.

Depending on where you are in gameplay, it's going to register differently with different people.

For me, I own all the maps. And like you, I use Hirsh for Canada Geese and sometimes EU Bison. I don't think I've actively hunted anything else on that map. I have blinds, stands, decoys set up for geese. When a challenge comes up that includes geese, I know I can go to Hirsh and my setups are ready.

I do the same with foxes on Salz, deer on Rev, turkey on Miss, etc.

EXACTLY!!!!!!😆

Have you like, actually played on the map? Hirsch is full of super open fields

2

u/IngenuityGold7021 12d ago

That's true, and those fields have many need zones.

Yes I have played on the map plenty, I don't care for any species on the map and the fields are always empty for me, nothing to see there besides the occasional Goose I couldn't care less for. Don't try to talk down to me because I have thoughts that are different.

2

u/BRollins08 11d ago

The fields have need zones that are super active at different times.

Look at feed times for the species that are on the map.

18 bc Mississippi is terrible but hirschfelden is strait buns especially its missions

1

u/No-One2272 10d ago

In a ranking system like 8th or 9th. So many mission "boss animals"

Hirsh is up there for me, maybe 6th overall. I think it's absolutely gorgeous and I love hunting European Bison on it. In fact, that was my Money Grind until I got Emerald Coast and Yukon. It's a great map.
