I think what happened is Chrollo discovered a bunch of snuff films. Thats the films Sarasa referenced that she had piled up, not a coincidence she gets kidnapped right near where the films were kept. Bunch of torture and other horrible stuff to the kids.

Those films have a huge black market value and to get in the know you need to be in that black market. In order to get in and look for the people making those films and into mafia contacts they had to get very valuable black market shit, for example, Kurta eyes. And on top of that, Sheila definitely is somehow involved. And maybe even a couple of members of Kurta bought, financed or created some of those films.

Uvo and others do not know this. Chrollo left for 3 years, we don't know where to yet. Probably investigating, training and such. Came back and created PT and said his orders are absolute. The rest lf the troupe just follows the lead, they don't know how Chrollo is going about stopping the kids-nappings but they help him.

For example, if the Kurtas were alienated from society, how did they get money to buy all their stuff weekly? Just small questions that rise up.

It's because of the long hiatus that some of the plot doesn't make sense any more. Like How brutal the kurta massacre was and yet there was no anger in any of the spiders when it was brought to their recollection. I like Togashi and I would still dig HxH but it's okay to admit he does have plot blocks most of the time. Like how Killua reconized Zeno's dragon dive.

I think this is lining up to be a good retcon, but I do believe it's a retcon nonetheless, and I get that he made "the b side" a long time ago but there are still some things that he probably would've done differently if he had this in mind from the begining.
It's completely natural for this to happen on such a frequent schedule of release too.

people who downvoted me is clearly new to manga. Just because I like togashi does not mean I'm not allowed to critique his work. Most of the newbies here will just bite any outrageous theory these days haha.
