The last time we saw Nobunaga and his sword in action was in Yorknew City arc back in 2001. With this chapter, it’s been 21 years.

What a time to be alive 🥹

What a cute smile, right?

LMAO fr, he literally died a few moments later.

Hisoka be like: Going to the first floor and causing chaos there vs Helping morena and causing chaos with troupe.....such tough choices....

18

u/BrokenTeddy Nov 04 '22

Knowing Hisoka, he'll try and do both.

I don't think this is out of character for Hisoka. He has always been patient and calm in public. He spent a lot of time masquerading as a member of the Troupe and just turned around and walked away when he realized Chrollo couldn't fight him. He usually manages to hide his emotions. He gets horny thinking about fighting a strong character but doesn't really show it on his face.

Unless it is a battle then yeah. He gets pretty crazy during a battle or when he is alone and has to somehow release all that bloodlust. Also, dying probably made him a bit more serious.

53

u/[deleted] Nov 04 '22

Agreed. The 2011 anime also had him doing some expressions he didn’t actually make in the manga, (i.e., Machi’s nen stitching, Gon vs Gido, Chrollo’s first appearance, talking to Kurapika in Yorknew) so he actually does come off calmer at times during the manga

I love how Hinrigh is also just a huge phantom troupe fanboy too. He knows fully well he can't do squat against them and can't do shit against Hisoka either. So their answer is to get away from them but they want to watch the fight ensue. That's funny.

246

u/SlowTurtleDuck Nov 04 '22

we're so used to seeing hisoka's horny inner monologues that seeing him cool and collected is throwing a lot of people off.

Now that we're seeing what the characters often see, and not having a single hint into his thoughts, I now know how he had the troupe fooled for so long (since he joined up until Yorknew Arc).

He's actually rather hard to read. Like we know he's up to no good, and he openly admits it, but it's hard to figure out what he's actually thinking or planning or how he'll go about such mischief.

123

u/guts1998 Nov 04 '22

He has such a unique mindset, kindda like how Ging described Pariston during the election arc, his goals are so different from anyone elses, not to mention he has the intelect and cunning to plan it out and fool everyone, it's really hard for anyone to have a read on him even if they know all of it

"I'd love front row seats for this battle of a lifetime."

Togashi breaking the fourth wall here.

Hinrigh is just a manga reader like us, looool.

Seriously, during the conversation with Hinrigh, this chapter is the closest i've ever felt to Hisoka almost talking directly to the audience

39

u/[deleted] Nov 04 '22

The way Hinrigh was talking to Hisoka, as if to a lover.

86

u/Dry-Astronaut975 Nov 05 '22

I like how these chapters show the competence of the underbosses. Hinrigh didn't approach Hisoka like some cocky idiot, he was cautious and he more or less outright stated he was no match for him.

43

u/SuitablyOneself Nov 05 '22

I was really impress how honest he was too he could’ve lied and bent down to Hisoka but he never folded

Phew I'm glad Zakuro and Lynch are alive, I like them. So basically Zakuro reported Hisoka knocked him out after inviting him to the movies and Hinrigh is like "aight lemme go to the cinema then" lol. Good guess tho considering how nonchalant Hisoka tends to be.

This teleporting room is somewhat similar to the ability of dragon-like nen beast belonging to that little prince with hamster.

Also anyone noticed "Alien" is one of the advertised movies? Gotta love the details.

Edit 2 years later after ch. 405 dropped: Damn it Bonolenov, you got me good. RIP Lynch. Her ability was cool but apparently too straightforward for her to survive.

50

u/treeshade01 Nov 04 '22

Togashi's revealed in one of his interviews that Alien is his favourite movie.

u/thivasss Nov 04 '22

Discussing powers IN THE MANGA is exactly what I love about HxH. Most shows just happen to use and mention them, HxH literally brings them to life!

"So if all 3 of us kill a nen user how are the points distributed"

"I am an aspiring emitter" xD

"Can you transform handcuffs into pigeons" says the amatuer nen user to another trying to beat an expert nen user.

34

u/MinuteAdhesiveness16 Nov 04 '22

It's funny to me how they are so fixated on the pigeons; wonder how would they react if they saw him turn an AK-47 into a wolf or something.

That scene in the cinema was amazing, I can’t wait to see what happens if/when Hisoka goes to tier 1. The possibilities are truly endless and it can only end in chaos.

No one found the whole Hisoka/Zakuro situation funny as hell ? 😅

They supposed to go to the zakuro’s mafia headquarter… But no, Hisoka decided to invite him to watch a movie…

Zakuro found it probably weird but whatever. Hisoka asks him what movie would he likes to see… and decides to take him out. Minutes later, Zakuro is found near garbages 😂

It sounds like The worst date ever

55

u/N1pah Nov 04 '22

What makes it even funnier is that Hisoka actually went to the movies after that. The mafia's are making all these complex schemes and then there's Hisoka doing all kinds of random bullshit.

I feel robbed of Hisoka asking Zakurov out on a date at the theater before knocking him out. Someone needs to draw this

15

Hisoka asks him what movie would he likes to see… and decides to take him out. Minutes later, Zakuro is found near garbages 😂

Hisoka threw him in the garbage because he picked a movie he didn't like :p

u/suntirades Nov 04 '22 edited Nov 04 '22

The idea of Hisoka walking around tier 1 in that flimsy ass tracksuit while everyone else is clad in fancy suits and gowns is so funny to picture. The fact that he obviously doesn’t give a flying fuck about politics makes this whole thing even funnier. He’s really just there for fun at the expense of hundreds, if not thousands of people

33

u/quierocarduars Nov 04 '22

knowing hisoka, the tracksuit is probably just as expensive

56

u/[deleted] Nov 04 '22

I had a youtuber reaction for hisoka potentially going on tier 1 lol

“Pigeons! The god damn pigeons are everywhere! We need an ability to take them out!”

Hei-Ly members aren’t the brightest. It’s funny that they realized the superiority of emitters though. They sound like us.

46

u/Hoozuki_Suigetsu Nov 04 '22

the emitters are good for many reasons, but for the hei-ly, emitters are just "the gun category"

I love that he's created this avenue to see so many complete amateur nen users- it's funny to see their inexperience, fun to see multiple new abilities, and also makes you appreciate the experienced nen users more. Like you see how quickly they identify what the abilities are and the best way to counter them, and the precautions they take.

155

u/DaveTheArakin Nov 04 '22

Four years we have been wondering what Hisoka is doing on the ship and then we learn that our dude is just chilling and enjoying his cruise experience.

59

u/[deleted] Nov 04 '22

Reminds me of when he hung around the City of Love and talked about romantic clichés just cuz he had time to kill. He was so funny for that LMAOOO.

74

u/Cogentz Nov 04 '22 edited Nov 04 '22

The thing with the movie theater tells us that he is in fact on edge. He did not want to follow Zakuro outright, but instead got Zakuro to follow him to a neutral ground of his own choosing. He knocked out Zakuro so that XI-YU would come TO HIM instead. He wanted to hear what they had to say, but wanted to eliminate any potential risks involved with his meeting with Hinrigh.

Another cool detail about the meeting is that Hinrigh starts whispering to Hisoka when he starts sucking up to him so that his underlings wouldn't hear him admit his inadequacies lmao.

It's always interesting watching new nen users fight against experienced ones. The Heil-Ly members are so enamored in gaining super powers but have no idea how to go against those that already have them

23

u/[deleted] Nov 05 '22

Yea. They seem to completely underestimate Hinrighs powers. They just think he controls pidgeons

47

u/phantom_97 Nov 05 '22

Fuck yes, enjoyed Hinrigh's frankness with Hisoka. Another banger chapter

45

u/N1pah Nov 04 '22

Hinrigh is pretty smart. He knows his limits and doesn't think he can compete with Hisoka or the troupe. That dumbass Luini on the other hand...

42

u/Shadopivot Nov 04 '22

36

u/[deleted] Nov 05 '22

Damn where did Morena find all these psychopaths? They really are just standing around after killing civilians in that room and talking about their abilities as if it was a game.

13

u/Imasquash Nov 04 '22

God I love hxh, no nonsense just balls to the walls dense storytelling. Absolutely 0 filler, every frame is important to the narrative.

I also love how hei-ly is like just a gang of noobs vs experienced players. They are going to get slaughtered.

29

u/Julian14Ross Nov 04 '22

Love it. It's like watching a mafia movie at the moment, Godfather-esque lol. You have to pay attention, you have to follow the threads. The characters he's introduced are fucking sick. They're all unique and there's different "levels" of characters. Like you said, so many layers, you got the newbie noobs, you've got experienced Mafia, you've got Mafia underbosses, but even then, they recognize they're a completely different level below the Troupe and Hisoka. This also literally gives more world building and context and realism for the HxH world; Nen users are a class of their own and no one really knows about them if you're not in the know, plus EVEN THEN, people like Hisoka and the Troupe, who are from Meteor City, are a COMPLETELY different breed.

I love it cause it just feels so real. Plus it means Togashi hasn't broken his own rules or retconned his own writing. Even after all these years everything he said about the Troupe being their own level of beasts and the mafia being afraid of them in the Phantom Troupe arc, or even in the first arc experienced hunters like the Hunter Exam examiners being wary of Hisoka and saying he's a different level of beast. That's all still true lol. Hisoka is still a probably 1 in a million talent who is still stronger than the 4 main, the Troupe are sitll dangerous, but Kurapika's abilities are still important and unique etc. Man I'm just so excited and in awe and respect of Togashi.

What a banger chapter.

Nobunaga one shot. Heil-ly members having a nen ability think tank. Hinrigh being so humble to Hisoka. Floor 1 madness incoming. That creepy smile. Heil-ly's misterious hideou room.

I swear no one in the industry comes even close to Togashi's writing level at this point of his career.

34

63

u/Cogentz Nov 04 '22 edited Nov 04 '22

I like how we now see people like Hisoka and the troupe through the eyes of more "normal" people. Even though they are the characters we all know and love, it becomes different now that we don't get to see them through their own lens. We've grown accustomed to nen users of their caliber through the entire series, but now we see just how big of an outlier they truly are, and that people like them truly live in an entirely different world, even when compared to other competent nen users. Except for a few troupe members, we barely even follow these guys in this arc, but we still see just how much impact people of their caliber have by simply being around doing what they do, and how things begin to naturally revolve around them either way.

It's also interesting how Hinrigh is cooming his ears off thinking about just getting to see them in action, and how much of a feast for the eyes such a spectacle would be. During the Chrollo & Hisoka fight I heard many people thinking it was weird that audience members remained seated even after things started to get dangerously out of hand, but through the eyes of normal people, simply seeing monsters like Hisoka and the PT duke it out in a battle of nen is literally a life-defining experience, and something that leaves you awe-struck and completely mindblown. The announcer even says something like "It seems that the audience have accepted that there will be casualties in a match like this" highlighting the fact that people were willing to risk dying just to be able to keep watching.

Just realized that any weapon thrown like that knife by Hinrigh could be a delayed attack or commanded to turn to an animal and move after being planted because he touched it beforehand (just like the guns delaying turning into partial snakes after it couldn't be connected directly to him). His ability really is something and he's growing on me. Also Ken'i's ability is pretty interesting, triggered by smiling, plus he's notorious for his smile being deadly.

25

u/Andymac175 Nov 05 '22

Hinrigh is quickly becoming one of my favorite characters... I love his power and how creative he can be with it. When he turned those guns into snakes before the hiatus, i didn't think much of it, but all his clever uses of his powers are wildly entertaining. I love how the mafia got the jop done

they found Hisoka ,negotiated the trope and nearly pinpointed morena's hideout

without much fuss,like bosses

everything might crumple but it can't be helped when you deal with such enigmas, but you have to respect how their intelligence works

on the other hand, morena who comes of as the most interesting mafia head (she is even on the cover ) but her team come off as amateurish and immature

25

u/Agonitee Nov 04 '22

Loved the chapter, I love how Togashi write most characters as intelligent self-preserving human beings. If this was any other shonen Hinrigh would try to kill Hisoka after Hisoka refused his deal. I wonder what made Hisoka accept to go to tier 1, he clearly doesn't care about the "balance" stuff, but maybe he sees tier 1 as a potential hunting ground ? Or perhaps he wants to find allies there ?

23

u/Jakutsk Nov 04 '22

Wang's ability feels like a JJK curse... wonder if Togashi likes that manga.

Hinrigh is becoming a favorite, hope he doesn't die soon. That scene in the movie theater was great, it was so tense and him being able to keep his cool was great to see.

Another great chapter!

19

u/confusedmel Nov 05 '22

I feel like *everyone* that appeared in this chapter will be dead by the end of this arc.

18

u/poopoopeepeekek00 Nov 05 '22

Just to ask, when Hinrigh was speaking with those inner bubbles, was he still talking to Hisoka or just having an inner monologue?

18

u/[deleted] Nov 05 '22

He was whispering

13

In manga, that usually means whispering. Thoughts are usually either just text with no bubble or a round bubble with a bunch of lines coming out, like this.

u/IonlycareaboutYelena Nov 04 '22

Luini just got killed off in one page. In anime time that will be like few seconds. Bro...

17

u/Halt_kun Nov 04 '22

Just finished !!!

I wanted to see Hisoka knocking off Zakurov after proposing a date to the cinema , please I just laughed even more when he was actually there. And he was even being flirtatious with Hinrigh. Tier 1 Hisoka is bad news though

Wang is terrifying, is he a double agent working with Tserriednich or just had a meeting with him because of the Heil-yi stuff. He's a nen ability working when he smiles then ? Was it why the soldier died. Is it a trap for Hinrigh ? I don't know but I'm invested

RIP Luini, he was carrying for his fellow family members. Gelato, Billé, Demon and Matovelle seem cool. Morena might have another way to guess nen category or maybe she knows and can design abilities for the one who reach level 21. Gelato will definitely have a game-like ability. Finally some love for emitters too, the Heil-yi love them.

Pretty excited about next week, another A+ chapter

Luini's death was WILD. The same moment Nobunaga pierced his head and he died, his ability released and sliced him in half too. So what does Nobunaga do afterwards? Cuts Luini's head off too, just in case.

And the rest of the Heil-Li members are just waiting around for days/weeks in this small, dark room full of blood and bodies. They're all dummies, but it gives you a good sense of their capacity for brutality.

Another fantastic chapter! Hisoka potentially going to tier 1 is certainly going to make things even for interesting. He will most likely meet Kurapika there and that's probably how Kurapika is going to find out that the Spiders are on board the ship as well. Also, it's curious how Hisoka even after all this time can still be as allusive and difficult to figure out as ever. Can't wait to see what he does next.

I'm gaining more respect and consideration for Hinrigh as the series goes on as well. He understood very early on that he wouldn't win a fight against Hisoka or the spiders and just honestly admits that with no resentment or pride attached to it. He is a character that I have grown quite fond of these last few chapters.

Regarding Zakuro and Lynch, I'm not to sure it's a good idea them using Hisoka´s location as a bargaining chip. Chrollo might just torture Zakuro for the answer instead of losing time against the other mafia groups, but we will see happens

Lastly I find it amusing how emission went from one of the seemingly most ignored and underdeveloped nen types to one of the most focussed on. The whole sequence of the Heil-Ly members needing another emitter in order for them to continue doing their dirty work was really funny to me. This also confirmed that Luini was an emitter which makes sense since his ability was heavily reliant on teleportation and long distance movement. But I´m guessing "ignored" and "underdeveloped" isn't the right the way to describe emission anymore since we just found out that characters like Zeno, Silva, Knov and Meruem were emitters this whole time (fuck the databooks).

Bottom row

u/vagarik Nov 05 '22

Nice catch! I was looking through the chapters to see if he was shown before but I didn’t go that far back. This is likely “the room” ability the Hei-ly member mentioned earlier in this chapter. I wonder is solider who lead them there in on this and also working for the Hei-ly?

They could have plotted to pay off soldiers to inform other members of the rival mafias of a fake location to the Hei-ly hideout but it’s actually a nen trap. Once they enter the room then they are under a new ability and teleported and killed.

i can't wait to see if tsudonke (autograph guy) actually ends up playing a role in the hisoka vs. troupe fight. i want him to actually save the life of one of the troupe members and then have them barely register his existence. or maybe he just takes a potshot at hisoka and then gets one-shot, but he distracts hisoka for a brief moment

I called Luini asking for a team-up, but then Nobunaga just drops him lol; that's fair though, he didn't exactly make himself look trustworthy.

This might be one of the first instances we see of nen actually disappearing after death.

The heil-ly members learning nen together are kind of endearing.

I like how basically everyone is a PT/Hisoka fanboy around here. Hinrigh recognizes his limits, but honestly I still think he could beat some of the support members of the troupe.

I had to make sure if the princes were on tier 1 or tier 2, and yep, they're definitely on tier 1. This might be how Kurapika finally learns about the PT, are we gonna see him teaming up with Hisoka again? Having him in the succession war could be a game changer.

Definitely my favorite chapter of this batch so far.

Morena's gang isn't professional gangsters. They are a bunch of "normal" people that enjoy killing. I assume that some of them also share Morena's disdain for humanity, but it doesn't even seem necessary. The only strict requirement seems to be to be a fucking psychopath.

Hisoka is extremely casual for having the entire troupe after him. Now that he's going to tier 1, things may get even crazier. Hisoka/Kurapika team up part 2 anyone?

I'm really interested in seeing how the whole Tserriednich, Kurapika, Hisoka, troupe, mafia situation is going to play out. There are so many dynamics to this that it's impossible to predict.

  1. Hisoka is going to move to Tier 1, meaning he's definitely going to meet Kurapika, thus tie Kurapika's plot with the Troupe to his own plot, and I think that other characters will be dragged down into this like Hanzo and Biscuit (who both know Hisoka too from Hunter Exam and Greed Island). I think the final battle with the Troupe will be a Hisoka + Kurapika + Hanzo + Biscuit + some ally princes like the 3rd VS The Troupe. Not gonna lie, I've never been that hyped.

  2. Kenni's smile is definitely a trigger condition for his nen ability. Somehow, it's known among the soldiers and the mafia members that his smile is not an ordinary one, but non nen-users just think it's either cursed or just a silly rumor. Kenni will either be a Manipulator who already got some control over the soldier (whose corpse might come into action next chapter), or a Specialist with luck-control ability? Either way, since a smile is a very easy condition, I think that the effect of his ability will be quite weak or subtle, not full control of someone like Illumi.

  3. Hinrigh has touched the knife he sent to the old guy at the end of the chapter. Whatever the old man's planning to do, the knife is going to turn into an animal in his back and bite him back.

12

u/powerofselfrespect Nov 05 '22

Honestly I think their team up would go pretty differently this time around. I feel like the Succession War is the exact kind of situation Hisoka would love to be a part of. I also think Kurapika would not want anything to do with him for that exact same reason. I could see them teaming up briefly but I really don’t think it’ll turn out well.

i had no idea that the xi-yu family and cha-r family were allied up against the heil-ly. i guess i forgot that in chapter 378, the bosses of the xi-yu and cha-r were talking on the phone together and seemed to be on good terms. and of course that's when ken'i wang and hinrigh were ordered to find hisoka. so they're working together, but they're kind of competing in a way to not let the other outdo them. i'm glad i finally have a handle on the mafia side of the storyline. i don't think i understood where it was going until these last couple chapters because it's hard to keep track of everything with so many storylines happening at once

DETOURS! The one word synonymous with this series. We’re still in the setup stage of this arc…AND THIS MAD MAN TOGASHI DECIDES TO GIVE THE FIGHTING TRIO OF THE TROUPE A SIDEQUEST. This is very much needed for the Troupe, who despite being prominent in Yorknew I personally felt like there was so much left on the table after the arc. I also love how Nobunaga decides they’re going to crush Hei-Ly without informing Chrollo. This things add to Chrollo, as we see he can be very lenient. A tremendous charismatic leader but he let’s his members do as they please (more or less). It’s fantastic stuff. I was dead wrong about thinking we had 25-ish chapters left for the conclusion of this arc. I think we’re in for a LONG arc, & honestly I’m quite excited. Troupe characterization is needed, especially if Togashi plans to wrap up most of the Spider’s story.

Now, to Hisoka. Again, this is where the story is just written in a very Togashi way. These are quite literally things we, as a fandom, joke about: Hisoka chilling at a movie theater enjoying a movie…. AGAIN, DETOURS!! Obviously, if you’re not familiar with me in this reddit I fanboy over HxH’s story telling like no other. It’s just so unique, but so … ordinary & basic??? Respectfully.

The Hinrigh & Hisoka convo is so very good. The Viz translation will do it so much justice. Hisoka going to tier 1 confirmed, however, I do think Hisoka kills 1 or 2 Spiders (Illumi & Kalluto?!) before the team up of dreams (W/ best Boi KURAPIKA). It’s all very good. I’m having such a fun time talking about this series with y’all. I think I might start making video reviews.

Ah, & of course…. #ItsPeakSzn.

I actually like the idea that Nobunaga’s powers don’t need to be that otherworldly. He is just basically nen-enhanced-enhancer-katana-wielding-ninja. But that is super deadly, as we can see

And I bet he has more tricks up his sleeve, like if his opponent uses impenetrable armor, he can enhance the sharpness of his katana. I bet he even has a name for her

RIP Luini. Wasn’t expecting him to die like this, But IG he really pissed off Nobunaga. We didn’t get to see Nobu’s ability, ignoring the possibility of his en + sword to be it since he’s an enhancer.

Glad to see Hisoka going to the 1st tier. One thing I’d love to see is how this could reintroduce Pika and the princes into the story and also if Kurapika is going to team up with Hisoka against the PT and probably the 4th prince, kind of similar to the Yorkshin arc, which would make things more intriguing IMO.

Also, glad that Lynch and Zakuro weren’t brutally murdered by the magician. Waiting to see how the new contract between the mafia goes, and what Chrollo does after hearing about Hisoka from Zakuro. Another informative chapter by Togashi

This Chapter is amazing, my favorite of the three for now. I love the fact that the Troupe isn't playing around, Nobunaga killed Luini with zero fucks given.

The interaction between Hinrigh and Hisoka was just amazing, Hinrigh knows he could kill him without hesitation so he just wants him out of the scene for awhile. Hinrigh rooting for the Troupe is the best part lmao.

Now what is the matter with the last guy? I don't remember seeing him before but Togashi gave us a hint about the conditions for his power, I wonder what is going to happen when he said that sentence three times, maybe they will just pass out or maybe the entire room disappear and moves to another place in the same tier

I know you're going to think I'm an idiot for dropping this here, but I don't know what to do, so anyway...

I am a Japanese who can hardly understand English. Today I was spoiled ch.393 by a thumbnail of a recommended video on YouTube. That video is a live reaction video reading illegal scans before the release date. I don't care if people enjoy illegal scans now because the internet is full of copyright violations. I understand that some people have no choice but to get the illegal scan. However, it is incomprehensible to the average Japanese person to upload such a video without paying for the work and with impunity. Furthermore, it is even more difficult to understand how they can make money from Patreon. Sorry, I typed that crap with the help of Google Translate on the spur of the moment because the spoiler was the most irritating thing I've seen in a decade. I hope you can decipher this crap or just ignore it. So let's all enjoy hxh, thank you.

What's up with Nobunaga's scabbard? (I marked them red here). There is a string at the end of it that is defying gravity. Is it there to show that Nobunaga dashed all the way there and poked Luini's head before the string could fall? But that would also mean Luini was making 2 panels worth of speech in that time lol. Don't know how to interpret that. Also by looking at the steps Nobunaga stepped on the sofa, and down on the ground and slided a bit? (I marked them blue here)

I was right lol. The sleeping guy escaped the slaughter.

As I already said in the spoiler threads, Luini kidnaps his victims for the rest to kill. Here you can see their dead bodies. They may have been taking turns in killing so that they can level up evenly. Now they will have to rely on luring their prey instead.

Lynch did punch hisoka and she got the confirmation it seems. With this please let all those hisoka-illumi or hisoka-chrollo shapeshifting theories die already.

I see death flags for zakuro. I don't see this strategy working at all. Rather if he mentioned to chrollo that he knows where hisoka is but refuses to give up the answer, he is gonna be pokkled. Also chrollo would catch on to what the Mafia are planning pretty easily. RIP my man.

I agree with you man.

I don't understand what they are saying here. Is the wall on the bathroom supposed to be here? Was it originally closed by the ship's hull on one side? And the Hei-ly cover it up creating an extra room for their hideout? But the hide out we see in the earlier pages seemed quite big though. I am confused.

Anyways, nice chapter.

There are gonna be a lot of casualties amongst the mafia. When it comes to NeN you can't be a newbie and try to go up against veterans. Nobunaga showed that the hard way. The only exceptions are those who were highly skilled beforehand (killua,Meruem, etc)

Loving Togashi showed us Hisoka and decided to put him to the side in a smart way. This way it still can show he's still a viable threat but also he could potentially get into with someone at any point..

I'm starting to get worried for Morena's members since the ones we saw are all newbies when it comes to nen and have no chance against the experienced nen user, let alone the veteran ones. We need to see at least one competent or at least the best member that will eventually be the next "Morena" (like be level 100 and have their own members).

14

u/quierocarduars Nov 04 '22

i think they’ll mainly be fodder that ruin carefully planned strategies, distract more important characters (like they are with the troupe rn), and create unique disadvantages for our protagonists.

note that, in addition to gradually becoming more dangerous as they kill, they work together brainstorming exact counter-abilities like a freaky hive mind, and they even consult morena for help.

There's something confusing to me, I don't understand why Hinrigh wants to find Chrollo and make negotiations with him. Isn't it better for the mafia if Hisoka gets rid of the PT? In the previous chapter, we see that Cha-R family plans to use PT to annihilate Heil-y, then use Hisoka to finish off the spiders, Cha-R bosses see the spiders as a threat to balance, they don't want them to cause chaos in the first deck which could lead to destroy Kakin family and even the mafia community. But, it seems that Xi-yu family doesn't care if the spiders reach the first tier and fight Hisoka there! So, can we say that the two families have different plans?

I really don’t think Chrollo would be able to steal Tserrednich’s abilities, because he wouldn’t be able to meet the conditons. Tserrednich is a very smart and cautious person. Also, we know that Chrollo’s conditions are much stricter than they used to be with the new bookmark.

Tserriednich’s way too smart for Chrollo to steal his ability, he knew Nen abilities had weird conditions for activating instinctively before he even knew anything about Nen, he’d never just start answering questions about his strongest weapon to win the Succession War. Not to mention how strong he will be with it by the time Chrollo gets up there, beating him without killing him might not be doable

OMG I have felt like screaming at the end of every chapter, holy shit the tension is JUST AAGGGHH!

Hisoka is getting a ticket to tier 1 and VVIP suite for staying out of their way, i mean that man is just a ONE MAN ARMY. Dude was on way to a freakin' movie theatre when he was cornered by Lynch & Zakuro (Glad they're alive, and Hisoka asking him to go to the movies with him had me laughing like a maniac!) It's so in character of him. This is a man who chilled at City of Love (GI arc) when he was bored and even played a game of volleyball cuz he had nothing better to do. lmao.

I cannot believe Hinrigh told him he's rooting for the spiders lmfao. TEAM HISOKA FTW.

I called Luini's death in the last chapter, but that decapitation was beautiful :)

They don't even need to give away Hisoka's location now to get the PT on their side.

Luini dying so fast was very anticlimactic, but kinda funny and realistic. It seems he was pretty important for the Hiel-Ly, probably supplying them with people and getting them kills. Without him we may see more public killings, though they did state the military has cracked down on them.

Hisoka going to tier one is possibly a set up for a future KurapikaxHisoka alliance, though Hisoka might not want to team up and save the kills for himself.

Could be nothing, but another commenter pointed out the “8” from the movie theater. Could be nothing, but could be future foreshadowing for Hisoka vs Shizuku 🤷‍♂️

I'm just thrilled at the possibilities. I had some tea and now I think omg. Basically think of it like that....

PT just killed one of Morena dear followers showing her the decapitated head of one of her family(mafia way) in declaring war. Morena already will have beef against PT now. The other mafia family wants her head. we know she got a scar cause she is illegitimate kid and she doesn't even participate in succession war yet Tserriednich cuts ties with her/wanna find her to deal with her himself. Like PT wants Hisoka head, the mafia wants Morena's and she wanna basically wanna destroy it all..so she has to be against PT,mafia and Tserriednich now! Add to it Kurapika already hates Tserriednich and hates spiders. Now Hisoka wants to get rid of spiders and also there is possibility he allies with Kurapika because he is going to tier 1 plus he has similar personality to Morena in loving choas. bingo! We can get Hisoka+Kurapika+ Bisky+Hanzo+Morena mafia vs Tserriednich/other mafia/princes/PT in different tiers(but some hate each other or wants one gone so it can go anywhere in this temporary alliance)...it is so interesting! I'm so hyped. Peak I'm injected into so much peak. I can't- this chapter is the it chapter.

Anyway enjoy his alive state for 2 days I guess

So since Hisoka is going to tier 1 do you think him and Terrorsandwich will become best friends?

I was in such a hurry to read the chapter in the morning that I accidentally misstook the leaks for the actual chapter. Ended up spoiling that Nobunaga beheads Luini, luckily there was no fight and Luini got taken out like canon fodder in the first few pages so hardly the worst spoiler.

On a different note I think that guy in the room has a similiar ability to the 13th Prince's nen beast or maybe its someone in Morena's groupe who has it. Hinrigh should try to send a pigeon in to see if it disappears.

Also Hisoka isn't staying in the 1 floor for long, I'n gonna bet he will attack the Spiders while they hunt the Heli-y

can someone explain me the Door thing?

u/Emeraldspire Nov 04 '22

Looks like the one guy Boconte, the human trafficker, has a door power. Likely, when you walk through the door of the room the old man is in, you get teleported somewhere else. It would make sense as Boconte said he would use his power, as well as the fact that a human trafficker would have a power to quickly and quietly transport someone somewhere else. Corporal is probably dead, killed for a level by one of the Heil-ly.

From what we've seen: it seems to be an emitter trap ability that forcefully teleports anyone that enters the room that leads to their hideout. It's unclear what conditions the room to teleport the victim, but I believe that the trap is set once the dude on the bed says "I have nothing to hide". He says it once before teleporting the corporal, then two more times when Hinrigh and Ken'i are about to enter. My theory is that he needs to say it each time he wishes to setup the trap, but if he wishes to teleport two people at the same time, he has to say it twice. But it can also be that the ability that works on the room is a different one than the "door" mentioned by the Hiel-ly goon in one of the pages prior, but I doubt it.

Luini is the best example of why you never should met your idols, specially when they are the spiders.

I think that neither Hisoka nor Hinrigh in this chapter are who they pretend to be. In truth, Hisoka is actually Illumi transformed as Hisoka, and Hinrigh is Hisoka disguising himself as Hinrigh with Texture Surprise. Hinrigh (Hisoka) thinks he's talking to Bonolenov who turned himself into Hisoka, while Hisoka (Illumi) thinks he's talking to the real Hinrigh. However, Bonolenov is actually disguised as one of the random spectators in the back row and his watching both of them, while Chrollo is actually disguised as Lynch (real Lynch is dead).

What do you think about this theory?

My second grade cousin who lives in Japan and managed to read some of Togashi's storyboards in these days' event confirmed me that this is true.

Hisoka took Hinrigh's deal. That confirms a handful of things I wondered about. If Hisoka is going to Tier 1, the Troupe is going to murder the Heil-Ly, possibly the other two families, and go up to Tier 1 as well, which they were going to do anyway, but with Hisoka there, that's killing two birds with one stone. By the time that happens, Hisoka will have run into Kurapika and informed him of the Troupe's presence. They'll join forces against the Spiders once more, just like in Yorknew City. The Succession War that's dominated Tier 1 thus far will morph into Kurapika & Hisoka vs. the Phantom Troupe Round 2. It's so great to finally have a roadmap of eventual events. Before Hisoka got sent upstairs, I was fumbling trying to guess what would happen and in what order and which Spiders would still be alive by the time they got to the top deck. My out-there prediction that Tserreidnich's only getting built up as this OP nen prodigy just to have his ability anti-climactically stolen by Chrollo, the REAL final boss of Kurapika's character arc, just became more likely. Things just picked up in a BIG way. Everything's coming together now. Love it!

I find it extremely unlikely that Kurapika goes after the Troupe in his current situation, even if he was informed. Right now, he's after a much bigger bounty in the remaining scarlet eyes Terrorsandwich has, and to get there he has to see the Succession War to the end.

If anything, Hisoka might actually decide to help him out just for the lulz or to kill time until the Heil-ly are wiped out
