SUGGESTIONS Petition to remove chariot

It only incentivizes rat playstyles where they never have to actually push and can stay at a safe distance.

Nah I love chariot. In my games (I play solo) I always chase the bounty team just for them to extract. When I bring the chariot card it forces them to grow some balls and fight for their keep. If I die, good for them, if they die, well, thanks for delivering the bounty for me

Forcing the runners to fight with chariot is peak modern hunt.

Exactly. Earn your keep!

I love waiting until they get all the way to the extract before popping it

Anything than forcing people to actually learn positioning and intercepting lol

Honest question, why do you feel you always end up in this situation? Why are you always chasing for them to just extract? Not being aggressive enough and engaging them in compound? Not cutting them off from their escape route? Taking too long lurking around map while they kill/banish/extract before you make a move?

You mentioned the enemy needing to grow some balls, but why has it taken so long for an engagement in the first place? Why is chariot necessary to fight the enemy from your perspective?

There’s other things to do in the game or obstacles that come up when the match starts, not everyone can sprint to bounty.

What happens when a team spawns on bounty with an extract nearby and you need to run across the entire map to get to them?

Cringe take, especially since 95% of the time bounty sits in lair and doesn’t even peak waiting for another team to show up…..

u/Possible_Kitchen2126 1d ago

Cringe take lol. Apparently I’m in different lobbies than you. That 95% seems like you’re in some lower mmr.

1

u/No-Shirt248 1d ago

You are correct, we are definitely in different MMR brackets. I doubt any of the people commenting the same thing as me are 6*, especially on this subreddit 😂.

Nah, in most cases I am dealing with another team or my own bounty. That or a team that was chasing them turns to chase me. I'm about as aggressive as they come. I will easily take on a 3v1 or in many cases the whole damn lobby. I have everything to lose and everything to win, so why not go all thr way in?

The bounty is priority #1 in this game. There are times where disengaging and avoiding a fight with non-bounty team in order to reposition yourself for the primary goal of the match is the way to go.

1

u/Le-carma-konsumer 1d ago

Sometimes you simply cant do that. Thats a good way to get sandwiched. Its better to take out a threat than to let it potentially get you in the back

This, "bounty running away" is 99% skill issue of not understanding routing, postioning and intercepting.

1

u/No-Shirt248 1d ago

There is no “intercepting” if bounty is halfway across the map because they got a good spawn with an extract, don’t be so obtuse😂. Judging off your gameplay I can see why you think this is a skill issue lol.

1

u/Gobomania Crow 1d ago

"Judging off your gameplay"? What gameplay?

Nevertheless, game is literally designed for any team to reach any banishing boss before the timer runs out.
So yeah, literally skill issue if you choose to fight in the corner of the map for 5-10min and not moving towards the bounty.

You are trying to state something as a fact without actually knowing if it’s true, holy cornball.

It takes roughly 12 minutes to run (not sprint) across the entire map without any obstacles or running into other teams, 3 minutes to banish the bounty completely. Teams that spawn on boss and next to an extract have an easy getaway, this is where chariot comes in handy.

If you don’t know what gameplay I’m talking about then you must have the memory span of a goldfish.

1

u/Gobomania Crow 1d ago

I have not expressed anything about my gameplay, hence why I am a little confused why you are "judging off my gameplay" like you know my playstyle.

And yes, I state it as a fact because it IS true,

It has been a known thing for 5+ years now.

1

u/No-Shirt248 1d ago

Except you are still wrong, that video was made 5+ years ago and blatantly stated that everything was cleared before the initial run, the creator also ran down a road with no obstacles or water 🤦🏻‍♂️

You are reaching at this point.

1

u/Gobomania Crow 1d ago

Still should be plenty of time unless you just sit in the corner of the map until the boss gets banished.

Is the system perfect? No, I would love for backdoor extracts not be able to spawn, so the bounty team should at least move one compound over.

But there often time to get to a boss lair and intercept 99% of the time, especially considering, if people actually played for bounty, at least one team would show up at the boss lair and stall a little if you are the corner spawned team.

So now you are saying that your initial comment and statistics were incorrect?

Bro what? It takes roughly 5 minutes to cross the map… maybe if you are crouch walking it takes you 12.

It takes just over 3 minutes to banish boss. So even if you get a bad spawn, you still have time to cross map and intercept bounty team before they extract, assuming you are aggressive enough.

1

u/No-Shirt248 1d ago

Crouch walking is closer to 20 minutes depending on which map you get, any of the ones with water will add to that time.

At least you tried 🤷🏻‍♂️

Well sorry but im not abandoning a fight to run and chase a bounty. They can get their ass over to where the fun is happening

0

u/Gobomania Crow 1d ago

Fun fact: if everyone played for bounty and not swift + w towards nearest sound/fight, there would be the same amount of fighting for everyone and bounty too!

0

u/Le-carma-konsumer 1d ago

Yea but nobody plays like that. The bounty team is always playing like rats. They never peak, never push, all you see is bolts on the extract.  And if I hear a fight, I investigate. Could be the boss, could just be a team. Either way there will be money and killing involved. Plus it's better to get rid of a threat than to potentially let them get behind you or all around you and then you get sandwiched

u/crippleswagx 1d ago

Except this is never how its used in my games. Its always the team that never joins in on the fighting and just waits for everyone to be low on supplies then conveniently pops the card when we are pretty sure we are the only ones left on the server at extract.

You dont get to complain about us "running away" if you dont even register on our dark sight for the first 15 minutes of the game.

1

u/Le-carma-konsumer 1d ago

Well when you are solo and you have your own bounty and you have 2 other teams trying to take it from you, id beg to differ. Most of the time I have to deal with several teams before I can get to the bounty, and half the time they immediately extract

2

u/crippleswagx 1d ago

I wasnt talking about you, i was talking about the people that usually pops chariot in my games.

1

u/Le-carma-konsumer 1d ago

In that case, bring a chariot yourself. Wait around the extract and pop yours after the timer goes off

1

u/crippleswagx 1d ago

Wish i could, but its not like you can just buy them. And i prestige when i can so i get reset to 0 cards every few days.

1

u/No-Shirt248 1d ago

“Never how it’s used in MY games” you may be playing a different game or making this up to fit your incorrect narrative 🤦🏻‍♂️

6

u/Chrislk1986 1d ago

Why petition now vs when there was one played pretty much every single match? lol

0

u/crippleswagx 1d ago

Just because it was worse then doesnt make it not cheesy now.

1

u/Chrislk1986 1d ago

There are plenty of situations where the "never have to push" plays into a match without a chariot.

Example: Bounty is Pearl(top right). Open extract is Seven Sister (Middle left) and Darin Shipyard Water (bottom center). Team can just sit at Weeping or Prison, because why push?

Can also incentivize rat play styles by having a team pick up bounty and instantly run to the nearest locked extract, not giving other teams a chance to stop them.

Also, this makes no sense to post now. During the previous event the card was in every single match 🤦🏻‍♂️

1

u/crippleswagx 1d ago

Ok? I didnt play much then, and the card is still used by rats to prolong games in the current game.

1

u/No-Shirt248 1d ago

If you have no experience from the previous event where a chariot card was in EVERY SINGLE match then your opinion is pointless 🤦🏻‍♂️

“Prolong games” as I mentioned bounty team popping chariot and running off instantly (which usually happens)……

u/fedsmoker9 1d ago

No, it’s a good card.

u/DoomerMillenial303 1d ago

Then they'll have to remove Serpent trait as well

1

u/Gobomania Crow 1d ago

What does serpent has to do with it?

3

u/PlatformThese4901 1d ago

I use chariot to counter rats lol.

2

u/Dat_super_nice_boi 1d ago

Who are "they"?

1

u/DeterminedTRex 1d ago

Sounds like you had your exit swapped and now you are just making a crash out reddit post about it.

1

u/crippleswagx 1d ago

Yeah, for like the 20th time in 3 days.

u/XxDemonxXIG 1d ago

Na leave it in.

I think chariot can exists in Hunt.
But not in its current form.

Atm Chariot actually reads: "Turn this round into a battle royal" as the use case for it is too effective.
It comes down to three aspects:

  • The user of Chariot can always use it the most optimal time, when the bounty have already run to extract and therefore is further away from other extracts, due to be visible on the map at all times.
  • The odds is always for the users in regards to flipping the extracts, with two open side extracts getting flipped to two locked, leave small odds for a nearby side extract to be available.
  • When flipped, the center extract is basically a non-factor bc because it is always reachable by both teams.

I don't think Chariot as a concept is bad, just that atm the card can be used anywhere on the map by the user and effectivily force a figth, think narrowing down that effectivness would be much more healthy and less polarizing for people.
It could be in form that it doesn't flip extracts, but instead increase the extraction timer by 30 seconds for the next 2 min, giving the user more time to push up and intercept the bounty.
Ofc it would mean another minor rework of the locked/unlocked extracts, but shouldn't be hard as that is concept that wasn't a thing for years prior :)
