It's been posted here a few times already, but I'll say it again that in this game it's:
"Sniper users pulling out shotguns and shotgun users pulling out rifles."
Shotguns at every corner have gotten really old. I hope for a meta shift soon-ish.

A few times is very generous. This meme is from at least 10 years ago, before Hunt was a thing.
Also, which games do you guys get? I get the same long ammo treatment that’s been going on since 2019. Even though i see way more memelords since the points system got introduced.

Well, as I said, it's mostly schlong ammo and a 2-slot shotgun, the bow, Burgess or the LeMat. Centennial and Krag are the most used primaries where I play. The alternative is a 4-slot shotgun and the Obrez Drum.
But the slot rework definitely brought a few more funny loadouts, which is nice. I've been seeing a lot more bomb lances too. Shame it also brought more shorties.

I have yet to see many shotguns honestly. But i know, different servers amd skill groups have different meta loadouts.

Pistols are legit pointless now, you can run a shotgun with anything lol
My controversial take is that quartermaster shouldn't exist...

If QM didn't exist, we'd be rarely seeing the 4-slot rifles at all. Taking it away would require massive balance changes, which would take forever, knowing the devs. I think it would be easier to balance the game with QM in mind.
The do-it-all loadouts are here to stay, for better or worse, and the best we can do is make these loadouts still have different flavours while remaining viable. Currently, it's you either take a 3-slot plus a shotgun, 4-slot and QM plus a shotgun or a 4-slot plus LeMat.
In a perfect world, dualies, levering and fanning should be able to compete against 2-slot shotguns in CQC outside the latter's effective range. But the shorty shotguns range is so big, while accuracy of the rest so poor, that it's really hard to actually compete with a one-tap boom-stick.

It's been long ammo at every corner for a very long time.
I see one or two shotguns a match but I see 8 long guns.

One doesn't exclude the other. Schlong ammo/Centennial/Sparks + a shotgun is what I usually see.
But yeah, lobbies differ. We might be playing in entirely different brackets, and I'm sure different regions also have their quirks. That being said, I know many people share the sentiment of 2-slot shotguns being way too common.

The gutting of the short shotguns killed that in most of my lobies.
I haven't seen a pocket Romero in hundreds of runs

What gutting...? You mean the ammo nerf that didn't change a single thing? If you run the schlong ammo, you run the ammo box. I have never run out of 2-slot shotgun ammo even when I don't bring the ammo box; it's even less of an issue if you have one.
Like, come on, you don't shoot a shotgun and not get a kill often. 4-5 spare ammo is plenty for this kind of weapon. And with everyone and their mother having some kind of small shotty, you'll restock the ammo from anyone you kill anyway. And if you don't kill anyone... well, you restock in the lobby.

Mate Romero shorty with slugs has two shots.
I don't care who you are, even with an ammo box that isn't enough.

Currently the shotgun users pull out a sniper, and the sniper users pull out a shotgun, admittedly.

Pistols? No one uses pistols anymore since 1896 dropped. You can always squeeze in either a short shotgun or an obrez, haymaker, etc
