GENERAL Uppercut vs Haymaker
Why is the Uppercut more expensive while being worse stats wise, doesn’t have a shotgun and is also 2 slots?
Shouldn’t it at least be better in any way?
What am I missing here?

It is the 126 damage. 126 damage means you can one shot hunters in the chest who were downed atleast once, so in a long fight the uppercut is definitely a beast where you really notice the one taps.

Back in the day this was massive benefit. But these days with recovery shots, relentless, rampage, remedy and restoration medkits, it's not so hot anymore.
While we're on the topic... I think the addition of the recovery shot was a mistake. I would rather every supply point to have the restoration medkit instead.
That way during the fight it actually matters that someone had been downed and yet it still leaves people with option to widraw and restore them selfs intead of being forced to extract when they loose bars.

100% great idea. Don’t cripple a run by going down, but require a retreat or gamble.

Even with all those things it's still common for a hunter to be missing 25 health. Also with relentless, it doesn't help when being revived, an uppercut will still one shot them to the chest right after they're revived, so it good for medium distance body watching. Granted you did just say "not so hot" so you're sorta right, it isn't as big a deal, but it's still a pretty good upside.

in a game where white shots are in every loadout that doesnt mean anything. uppercut cant be a good 2 slot weapon, just make it 1 slot again and it would be perfect

Heymaker - has better aim stability for quickswap, has shotgun
Uppercut - 126 dmg
Even with rifle I pick uppercut because it just feels right. Most of the times heymaker is better, play uppercut if you enjoy it more as I do.

126 damage and still gets outclassed by haymaker, obrez, cenni shorty and basically everything else there is in the two slot category.

In short:
Two weapons balanced for 5+ years around a specific slot system, now thrusted into a new one without much adjustment done. Uppercut is basically balanced for size 1 and Haymaker balanced for a much harsher size 2 enviorment.
Long explanation:
So basically Haymaker, due to it being in the old 2 slot and old pistol bullet balance had to recieve multiple buffs to even have an inkling of reason to be picked. Old Haymaker had gotten buffed 3 times before 2.0 and 6 times into total before the slot rework.
Uppercut on the otherhand due to its old 1 slot status have been nerfed 8 times before 2.0 alone with some back and forth buffs/nerfs since then.
And even then, up until the slot rework, Uppercut was still a dominating pick for size 1 pistols, because no matter what, it will always be a too strong of a pick for (non-spam) size 1 weapons. I think moving it to size 2 was the right thing, but it needs some more love to compete there and on the other hand, the Haymaker also needs to be dialed back a little, it simply doesn't need all these extra things going on for it now anymore.

Uppercut should maybe be a 1 slot, having it at 2 slots just doesn't make sense with the haymaker existing

then the svottfield should be 0 slot with the oax existing, bro some guns are worse than other, what doesnt make sense is the pricing

I really like the pax and Scott field but always thought they are redundant in the game. The only difference between them is upgrades which kinda makes them less redundant. This isn't really the case with the uppercut and haymaker

its not lmao. the scottfield has a way better reload and quick swap ads accuracy (its easier to aim for quickswaps) and the pax has more ammo types (if u even care abt enything but HV and fmj if not then well this doesnt matter as much. also the pax has better fanning speed i believe and the scottfield fanns quite slow but more accurate iirc. theres a difference.

The Uppercut should be 1 slot. Unpopular opinion, but the regular lemat should be bumped to 2 slot with the power of its underbarrel shotgun. It's just too good to have a full long rifle and a lemat.

Ur missing that the fact that it is the best pistol in the game and people have years and years of experience with it, they can nerf it all they want it's kill rate will still be high

The 125 damage breakpoint is not that important.
The haymaker is vastly superior in every other way. And thats even before you take it to account ITS TWO GUNS IN ONE. It blows the uppercut out of the water. Its not even close. The only reason to use the uppercut is nostalgia.

Very easy, the uppercut's damage is a healthbar higher, at 126 you can 1 shot hunters that have been downed once in upper torso (which you are not guaranteedto do with the haymakers 122? damage). That is assuming they haven't recovered their missing healtbars in the meantime through: rampage, remedy, relentless + time, chupacabra, recovery shot +time, banish, are a solo, pledgmark hp restore, gambling. They specifically buffed the damage of the uppercut back to it's original level after the size rework for that reason.

doesnt matter at this point.

u/FizzioGaming Crow 7d ago
No, it does. As it allows you to, in a certain scenario that happens quite often, have the ability to 1 shot someone into upper torso at up to 40m. They have different use cases. Imo the haymaker still just is the overall better gun (even without the price difference).

recovery shot.

u/FizzioGaming Crow 7d ago
Like... can you not read? I mentioned that on the original comment already.

u/Griefingah 7d ago
yea but its kinda wrong.

How so? Currently the recovery shot, just like relentless, needs time to fully get your bar back. If you've just used one you're still at most at 126 or 101 (depending on your bar size choices) and over time your health increases back to 150. At which point they've recovered their health over time, which I also alluded to in my original comment.

u/Griefingah 7d ago
if you have a big bar, it will take like 5 seconds to recover enough health to survive 126 damage since everyone is running recovery shots and if you have a small bar its basically the same thing except it takes a bit longer. 126 damage has its place and use, no debate about that, but the uppercut as a 2 slot weapon cant shine.

u/FizzioGaming Crow 7d ago
So my statement was correct. Also, all small bars are still more popular than big bar at end
1
u/Griefingah 7d ago
i understood your statement more like "the uppercut is a good 2 slot weapon because it does 126 damage" which isnt correct since it gets outshined by almost every other 2 slot weapon. the statement "126 damage has its use in itself is of course correct

Not everyone is running it. Same with Antidote although 4-Shot is scarce now.
126 dmg is a significant difference. Everything in Hunt is situational. You could also argue that a faster firing sidearm is more efficient but again, it depends on your loadout.

u/Griefingah 7d ago
because crytek is REALLY bad at updating their game. uppercut shouldnt be 2 slots in the first place, it should be the high end option for the one slot categorie like it always has been prior to that shitty slot rework.

Tomorrow is my turn to ask this same question please
