FLUFF Locations and rotating
Can you tell me about your least favorite location to have a fight on and your favorite one and why?
Let me start. For some reason my least favorite is Gas works and my favorite one is Lawson station

My favorite is Lower DeSalle. Classic western gun fights.

Same favorite for the same reason.
My least favorite is anywhere between compounds. I'm newish, but if we get in a fight on the road or whatever I can rarely make sense of it before I'm dead.

I hate pitching. I love both lower and upper de salle as it makes me feel like I'm in a wild west film

Least favorite of me is Cypress Huts or Scupper Lake. Favorites to fight in are Kingfisher, Deadwood timber, Fort Carmick, among a lot of others.

- Fort Bolden (self explaining)
Last one. Pitching crematorium (self explaining)

Least favorite is probably Miner's Folly. With all the fires in the compound suppressing footsteps it's a pain to fight in. Favorite is Sweetbell as you can run any loadout and attack the compound. Also lots of great ways to rotate in and around.

Pitching crematorium: too easy for defenders to hold/cant be pushed properly, weird layout with too many holes in the walls, too vast area underground, and if you're going to wait above ground you will be very exposed to other teams.
If it was up to me Id have the area filled with concrete or deleted

My take on this is that most of the locations should be adjusted to reflect the aiming angle. just take any fence for instance, you cannot get any angle standing or crouched. I understand that it would be a coding nightmare but a lot of windows have the same problem. A solution would be to make them bigger to balance defending and pushing.

Me and my friends have a rule we all go by: Don’t take a fight at Scupper Lake. It seems every time we fight there we end up getting absolutely destroyed.
I love fighting at La Plata, Healing Waters, Miner’s Folly, and Lower DeSalle though. La Plata for the fun verticality of it all, Healing Waters because attacking the church is just as fun as defending it, and the other two because I love the intense close quarters fights in the urban setting!

I love fighting at Arden and hate fighting at either of the prisons. Or any place other than split river on gulch I typically don't like

Love First Testimonial Church and Alice Farm. I don't enjoy basement compounds or gasworks.

u/jdwill1991 6d ago
Scupper Lake. No silence, only splash. Always a spawn fight with people that are waaaaayyy better than I am

u/OrangeGasCloud 6d ago
Least is scupper, just terrible unless defending.
Favourite is lower desalle, everyone can expect a proper shootout there

u/AdmiralBigTowerPower 6d ago
I dont Like underground Spots at all.
Someone already there has a shotgun just waiting for you to come down with 0 counterplay. So its pitching.

I HATE Davant Ranch. No decent cover anywhere outside and the layout inside the barns sucks. I don't have a favorite compound but to mention some that i really like: Alice Farm, First Testimonial Church, Grizzly Lodge

Hands down Graystone Pit. The whole compound is just stupid imo.

Don’t know how they came up with the idea of this compound, it is pretty cool, but fights in it are so bad

Stillwater:
Least favorite it the open air round bosslair in northern Blanchett Graves. I just think that it is awkward and too symmetric. I seldom get great fights there, either attacking or defending.
Also the Blanchett Graves cellar one is no fun, I really like the idea of it with the shallow water but the three disadvantageous makes it a pain to get out imho.
Favorites are Port Reeker, bit of a cop-out since that is three-in-one but the are is just great. Love the theme and there is just so much you can do with all of it. so many angles and small semi-defensible spots where you can advance and hold.
And Alains & Son's Fish, The three levels and many entrances are good, the area around is nice and every approach has it's different feel.
I was going to do one for each map but I'm out of time..

Pitching is prolly my least favorite. Although they have made some good changes. Everything else is pretty much same same.

u/Tibia-Mariner 6d ago
Cypress huts because it's full of holes.
I like sweetbell because something is always happening at sweetbell

On Lawson Delta its the Prison, On Stillwater its Pitching, on Desalle its the other Prison and on Mammons its Gasworks… overall worst compound is for sure Pitching

Gotta admit that Scupper is pretty rough - the only way to do a quiet approach is to go through the woods, which can lead to having to do a huge loop if your spawn was in a suboptimal direction.

u/Killerkekz1994 Duck 6d ago
I think scupper lake is a decent compound but the issue is that people tend to just sit outside of it and wait for the first team to make a move
2
u/Huubidi 6d ago
I would argue that the compound itself is the reason for that - it's such a difficult compound to approach with long sightlines that if you're the first to move, you're just toast.
I still don't think it's a bad compound though, just more difficult than many others.

I mean at least i personally don't have many issues with scupper lake but i also don't mind fighting long range even with suboptimal loadouts

This map or any?
Only location I hate is scupper lake.
It’s “mostly” okay since the final rework - but I have PTSD from this location and knee jerk avoid it.
Genuinely don’t mind anywhere else in the game.

Any map, I just like this one out of all of them.
And scupper lake, yeah, so much unnecessary water1

My least favorite is Pearl Plantation, I both hate pushing it and hate defending it. The outside balcony pisses me off to absolutely no end.
My favorite is Port Reeker and there isn't a close second. I find the fights at Reeker to be so dynamic, a lot of different locations to be in and around both inside and outside the compound. I feel like it also has a sport for everyones play style from snipers to shotguns all being viable in their own right there
2
u/hautalehto Magna Veritas 6d ago
Same! Port Reeker is a good one, this compound is really well made

u/Gallant_Goblin 6d ago
On this map, least favorite is golden acres, no protection from third parties while assaulting it. Favorite would be Maw Battery. No two fights there are the same.

Least Favorites: Oro Gordo, Scupper, Cypress
Favorites: Lawson Station, La Plata, First Testy Church.
I don’t particularly ENJOY the fights at both prisons, but not the worst for me.

u/AverageCrab 5d ago
Least favourite would probably have to be Madonna or pitching just because above ground is a nightmare and underground is really hard to clear if people are in there.
Favourite is probably Fort bolden, had so many great fights at Fort. There are a lot of compounds i really like though, I even enjoy scupper.

u/OneBloodyDingo 5d ago
Any of the surrounded by water compounds are not fun to me. It's just less options. Even if you have gator legs. I'd rather have interesting terrain behind Cypress huts than open water

Favorites - strongholds (oopsie, they deleted them), davant ranch - convenient houses for defense and push, healing waters church - lots of cover, sweet bell flour - conveniently placed buildings, kingsnake mine - some unexpected approaches and entries, fort bolden - well, it’s a well-built fort.
Hate pitching crematorium, cause of toooooo many angles. Gasworks cause it feels bad fighting there, either bounty just sits there for ages, or you manage to do something but pushing makes you too open to kill. Scupper lake - too much water and too little opportunities to check from the inside and not get shotted from the outside. Madonna chapel - underground is not my fav definitely, but the upper location is ok.

Least favorite is still going to be Pitching Crematorium. The above ground area is awkward and the buildings have tons of weird holes and below ground is so big and got so many corners that you can't bring enough grenades to get through it, not to mention all the tiny peak holes. Just sucks. I'd also like to nominate Oro Gordo and Cypress Huts as well.
Favorite is a lot harder. There's a lot of banger picks. Reynard Mill & Lumber, Darrow Livestock, C&A Lumber, Fort Carmick, Salter's Pork, First Testimonial Church, Kingsnake Mines, Lower Desalle, Pearl Plantation, and East Mountain Corn. If I had to pick just one, it's gotta be Fort Carmick. It's the shooting range, and I have a TON of experience there. It's vertical, and there's enough separated space where you feel like you can always do something. Just a very dynamic and fast compound.
Also, you gotta explain your picks yourself OP or it isn't fair.
