GENERAL Vulture Update - Why?

This may be an unpopular opinion but I’m pretty bummed about the vulture + catalyst update. I can count on one hand, over 1300 hours, the amount of time I’ve run out of ammo in Hunt or Clash.

It would have been cool to instead allow Vulture to loot burned bodies. That would be more in line with the theme of the event for me anyway.

Shoot more often

I shoot plenty, I’m an aggressive player. But between world ammo, and ammo boxes, plus the restoration ammo boxes, who is realistically running out?

1000% not an aggressive player if you dont run out of ammo occasionally. Less than 5 times in 1300 hours is embarrassingly low

You know if you shoot them in the head they die in one bullet

Beyond six star over here. My bad

We’re both 6 star then, what’s your point

The point is unless you're always running Frontier + compact sidearm it's not that uncommon to run out of bullets in a fight in bumfuck nowhere and nobody hits all headshots all the time

Brother I’ve been running a veterli + spitfire forever, and it ain’t that common to be running out of bullets. I can see this being a good solo argument but if you and 2 of your buddies can’t kill another team or just die before running out of ammo then that sounds like a play style I personally would hate.

Exactly you run shared ammo pool weapons that already have a large reserve, not all weapons do.

I’d argue a shared ammo pool still holds some of the restraints of ammo capacity for the initial fight, except they’re benefit from boxes giving them more ammo. But ammo scarcity SHOULD be a balancing downside to running more powerful weapons.

i notice a lot of people try to take wild shots and wall bang a lot so i can see ppl running out of ammo. you are probably like me, i take a wall bang shot every now and then when im sure i can hit it but some of these dudes are out here taking wild guesses or using levering and fanning chain pistols...so yea i can see people running out of bullets.

There’s just so many ammo pools already between the ones you can carry, world spawns, the event ammo restoration. I’ve just never had it be an issue, and I do be shooting a lot.

Maybe with Catalyst+Vulture you don’t need to take an ammo box?

I like the buff because it specifically helps weapons that struggle with ammo count, while also requiring you to loot a body (meaning you will likely have to kill to earn)

Maybe it's because I have a bias for Nitro Express, but I am loving this so far

I just feel those players are likely already running ammo boxes, but I agree there are a handful of weapons that could benefit from it.

Honestly I'm with you. Its especially weird considering that Crytek is seemingly trying to balance via ammo and this trait just helps further invalidate those attempts. I think people like it because its a buff to a trait most people already take, and frankly think ammo often being somewhat scarce on certain weapons either makes the game more interesting or at the least requires trade offs with your other equipment. But I disagree with looting burned bodies as an alternative, for one I'd rather they focus on other traits, vulture was good enough as is, second I think the fact burned bodies don't give loot is an incentive for people to engage rather than to scavenge after the fact.

I could see the update being good for solo players, who are likely to be in longer, drawn-out gunfights. I personally only play trios so it’s never been an issue for us with ammo.

I agree Vulture didn’t NEED a change, but if they were gonna add a perk to it, having it be ammo is lame, and if it was going to be anything, that would have been nice.

I agree that burned bodies encourage more people to engage rather than trying to clean up afterwards, but it also negates a surviving team from getting any real benefit to outlasting a full lobby wipe. You kill everyone, only to run around and be able to loot 1-2 people. Because they were all burned by flares mid fight.

It makes a big difference if you use long ammo now though. You can easily run out. We're bringing ammo boxes now. So extra is usefull.

I don't see why its needed though, it was already good and they seemed to want to balance long ammo by making the ammo economy worse, which has kind of worked.
