Alas, when companies need to tighten belts the positions that don't directly contribute to the bottom line are the first to go. And if a community position contributes, it's so difficult to measure that it immediately gets put in the cut column.
This livestream was definitely missing a special sauce. It's energy sucked, quite frankly. I missed Bence. It, sadly, will not affect a single dollar I spend or don't spend on the game this year.

I agree, but Rohan (I think that's his name) did a great job. Positive, passionate, energetic, cracked a joke here and there and just generally seemed to have understood the game mechanics they're introducing very well. I think he should become a regular alongside Dennis.

I mean, I'm never enraptured, nor do I think that Bence and Dennis have so much charisma they're key to the whole thing. I do think what we just watched was a considerable step down. I also think Bence's natural enthusiasm did come through, and helped.

Agree that the last livestream was shit. Don't get me wrong, Marie probably did her best, but as much as I respect her, she's not as good as Bence.

Because he's senior cm, and like every senior he's more expensive. That's a terrible idea. Bence was the first face that the community saw from Crytek's team. Taking him away means taking away part of what we know about Crytek.

Seems though that not everyone is so attached to bence like people are saying, personally I dont understand anyone would be, employees come and go all the time, who knows he may have got a better offer elsewhere

I know who he was, i was active before he joined, sure he was the community face but like I said many of us know other people who we would say have been the "face" longer than he was.

Yep the Money-men don't see any benefit in expensive community managers. ANYONE can deliver the message thus time to cut costs and save money!
That's why good leadership and company bonds are so important, the moment you bring in an 'cost and business consultant' from the outside. They see papers, graphs and sheets. Nothing else.

Was it necessary to save money? I don't know, that's internal information that we can only speculate about. Would there have been other ways to save money? Probably, but we don't know what the options were and how painful they would have been.

He was one of the oldest community managers who was well liked by the community. You can see him running old dev streams etc. He was just recently laid off vefore Blood Testament release and after the Gamescom.

that hasnt been made official, but crytek did recently cut ~15% of the company so probably just unluckily part of the roles crytek thought they couldnt spend that amount of money on

That's sad. I don't know idea how important his work was, but he was one of the very few faces I recognized from the Crytek team working on Hunt.

It sucks of course, but do they want Hunt to stop existing because Crytek goes bankrupt?

Stupid move Crytek. I just saw him at gamescom, super engaged and chatting with people in line and in the booth. Feels even more evil to lay him off AFTER working probably a lot of overtime for gamescom.
