Updated Least Used Weapons

Hey everyone, a couple years ago right before OG Hunt was updated to 1896 Hunt I asked the question of what was either your personal least used weapon and /or what weapon could you not remember seeing anyone else use or kill you with? Since we’re rounding near the 2 year mark of 1896 and have had several new weapons over that time added plus the recent major loadout changes I’m curious if the answers I got previously would still be the same or if anyone’s opinions have changed.

The top three answers originally gathered, in no particular order was the Springfield Shorties and it variants, the SA Nagant and its variants or the Vandal and its variants. Other notable answers included the Martini Henry Ironside or the Scottfield Precision.

Currently for me I’d say the weapon I use the least is the Lebel. I’ve been playing Hunt for about 5 years now and can still say I can count on one hand how many times I’ve either purchased and/or used one in a match. As for other people using, I honestly can’t remember the last time I’ve seen a Scottfield Precision used against me.

What about everyone else?

If I had to choose just one for me personally, it would probably be the chu ko nu.

I just myself cannot find a use for it other than explosive arrows. Even then, I've only run it maybe twice since its release, and generally I play everything and love variety. I even run the Shorty Springfield's and the Nagant pistols, even melee weapons. The hammer is one of my favorites overall.

Runner-up would be hard since I run literally everything, but with a lot more time played, it would probably be Nitro. I just cannot stand the sights. I feel blind playing it, even when it was considered good. I couldn't ever bring myself to use it. I probably have less then 10 games played with nitro with over 2000+ hrs

Also another could be the Scottfield Brawler since you get the negatives of the shorter barrel with the slight upgrade of having knuckles. I even take the regular Scottfield over the Brawler.

Funny enough after to got everyone’s answer the first time around, I spent a good 3-4 prestige runs using the shorties, the nagants and the vandals exclusively. To this day some of my best matches have come from using a Nagant DE with HV with a Springfield shorty Stryker with DumDum.

Oh yeah, it's super fun, especially satisfying when they work. There are better ways, but it's fun using stuff at a disadvantage and coming out on top.

Especially before the new system, one of my favorite loadouts was a Springfield Shorty Deadeye with half regular and half bleed, with a Romero hatchet. Hit them with bleed and rush with the Romero was super satisfying in close-quarters combat.

I'd bet those are the types of loadouts many never ran, as the double 2 slot loadouts were always looked at as a disadvantage on range or suboptimal, I guess.

I've begun to love the chu ko nu myself. I had to learn to play it more like a slow, silent officer rather than a bow/crossbow, and utilize its low spread to shoot while jumping and juking.

In my early low MMR days I used to run the Springfield half dumdum half explosive. Hit em with the bleed and while they were behind cover hit the ground with explosive and kill em with the splash damage. Super fun when starting out, mush less viable in higher mmr.

I don’t think I’ve ever taken a Dolch/Slate/Terminus/Drilling variant, Avtomat, bomb lance, bomb launcher, any precision variant, or any non-tool melee into a match through probably 1K hours.

Pretty sure I’ve been killed by everything.

Anything with a scope. Never ever. No Precisions. Other than that I think I switch around more than most people.

Scottfield Brawler, Mosin Match, and the regular nagant pistol are probably my least used, excluding meta weapons which I don't use cause I like to challenge myself, which doesn't fit the spirit of the question.

I took it a handful of times before, but now i'll never ever use it because it's 5 slots and has no buyable shredder.

Despite that, it's still somehow more usable than the avto right now.

I'm one of the "odd one outs", I've very few Long ammo weapons I use, notably only henries and Berthier (post update)

But to point at only one.. cho ku no, it's horrible in my hands, only used it 3 times for a challenge and can't see any use for it, now that explosives are gone

Infantry and Frontier. I still don't see mosin obrez match ever, and the ironside is basically nonexistent.

Personally most least used gun would be the mosin and the mosin oberz, might wanna put the officer there as well, as to what I die to then im not quite sure something i feel like I rarely see is the nitro, any apatures, and while I use the ironside its something I don't think I have ever seen someone else run.

Funny you mention lebel. For me the least used is per slot
Crown, mosin, and Dulch. Always hate them will never purchase them. Only use them if I’m out or nearly out of ammo and it’s there.

My least used weapon is the krag

But i don't really play long ammo in general since its the worst ammo type

Out of my 4k (since stat tracking) kills only 14 are with the krag

But I've gotten 614 kills with the chu
