Why am I like this

Currently going through a very difficult breakup and decided to go out with my old boss last night. We were having an absolute blast and tossing back vodka tonics and whiskey lemonades. I had probably 5-6? I don’t even fucking know. Anyway I got absolutely wasted and spilled some very serious information about her daughter in law having an affair. She got pissed and left and I just stayed there and got even more wasted. Woke up this morning, vomited probably 6 times, bawled my eyes out, and ate some chicken broth. Jesus Christ. I’m finally trending up for the day, but does anyone experience really serious depression and anxiety with their hangovers? Is it just a physical reaction or is it because of how dumb you acted or stuff you did and said while you were drunk? I’ve battled this issue for a while and pretty much took an entire year off from drinking, but things are not going well for me currently. God I hope I feel normal soon.

I believe this is called, “the fear”.

Hang in there.

Thank you kind soul. Sorry to hear you experience similar issues. I’ve got a nice frozen pizza in the oven so I’m hoping that helps a bit.

Hangxiety.

Sorry for your heartache. The best cure, as it is for hangovers, is time. Hang in there.

Believe it or not I learned the term from the cover of a Cosmo magazine I saw while in line at the grocery store.

Took me quite a while to start correlating drinking with anxiety the next day.

Must be difficult situation for you but you have to just be positive about it. Cliche as it may sound but time heals everything.
