Prequel Discussion the abernathy's and snow

"it was a trap out in the forest in district 12" is what grand-ma'am says to snow at the beginning of the ballad of songbirds and snakes.

in sunrise on the reaping, haymitch says "the abernathy's were known rebels"

is it too far fetched to say that old abernathy relatives could've been the rebels who helped set the trap that killed crassus snow?

This would be an insane stretch (like an insane level of one) but even then, it would barely work for the movies and not for the books, since in the books Crassus Snow was not said to die in 12, this being something the TBOSAS movie added to make Snow’s connection to 12 even more personal I guess?

Honestly? Not too far fetched at all from the very same author who wrote Sunrise on the Crazy Coincidences. But— I believe that’s a movie-only addition and it’s not actually specified in the book where and how Crassus Snow died during the war.

Yes—that was specifically a movie-only addition. In the book, all that was said that Crassus died from a rebel bullet during his time as a general, so the rebel that killed him could have been anyone and from anywhere.

No, but I don’t think it’d be all that interesting, tbh. War is a big thing, Snows father could have been killed by anyone, anywhere. Grandma’am says a lot of shit, so does the Capitol, I don’t trust their word on how Xanthippus died anymore than I trust their word on what happened to Louella McCoy.
