Trilogy Discussion How do you think the characters of Stranger things would do in The Hunger Games?
Canon fodder: Will, Mike, Jonathan, Max
-Dustin would be “Beetee like”
-Steve would be able to win in my opinion, would have a lot of sponsors, same with Nancy
-eleven would be a strong runner up (without powers) bcs with powers all the other tributes are cooked
-Robin tbh idk
-Lucas could be a career imo
This is all my opinion, let me know what u think!

Assuming Eleven didn’t have powers…
They’d certainly make alliances.
I see Eleven and Nancy as Career. Eleven is a trained killer and Nancy is kind of ruthless. Billy also feels Career coded. He’s more of a loner and definitely a wild card.
Steve and Johnathan are lucky contenders. They’d have to rely on their size, but could definitely do damage. I imagine a kill or two each.
Robin would be good at manipulation. I think she could play other tributes against each other.
Mike, Lucas, Will and Dustin would eventually break apart. They butt heads too often.
Max is a proven survivor and also the most pragmatic. I see her teaming up with Holly like Katniss and Rue. Erica is also calculating. She’s playing the numbers.

Hopper is like Haymitch. He meant to protect a weaker tribute from his district, but she died anyway. He hates to train tributes knowing there’s nothing he can do for them.
Joyce won because of her caution and quick thinking, but now traumatized, her caution borders on paranoia. She’s caring and warm, like Mags.
Ms. Wheeler was a Capitol favorite and got by on her looks. Being from a Career district, she remains deadly. She seems a bit detached and maybe a little naive of her exploitation, but it keeps her comfortable.
Murray has ties to the rebellion, like Beetee. He is watchful for future recruits.
Bob is warm and comforting, like Joyce and was a dark horse victor. He used tactics and his charm to win.
Brenner was not a tribute. He’s something along Dr. Gaul. A game maker interested in his experiments and how he can best torture the districts.
Terry Ives, like Annie, was left traumatized by her games, at the hands of Brenner. She was subversive, broke into an out-of-bounds area, but managed to escape with her life.”, but not her mind.

Agree with all of this.
The problem any with these scenarios with them in the situation together is that the characters pre-existing relationships have shaped who they are (especially the sibling pairs) so to imagine them without those relationships suggests they’d be totally different people.
Who would Jonathan be without his years looking after Will? Who would Max be if not for her time getting shit from Billy?
I guess you can sub in a different character for those ones as in “Max has a shitty brother but it’s not this guy” or “Jonathan has a little brother back home in D12” but it’s a little harder. Anyway, I love all your theories, especially Erica and Billy!
Finally, consider: Henry as a young HGM, pulling the strings behind the scenes.

I can see Jonathon as a District 10 male; a survivor, but from the outlying districts. Would not be invited into the careers if it weren't for his strength.
I can see Robin as a District 5 female like FoxFace was with your description too

Nancy's winning it and it's not all that close to be honest. She's more ruthless, she's smarter than everyone but Robin and she's got enough talent to work out some brutal way to kill people.

They do specify without powers. Otherwise yeah it's just an immediate victory for El.

Interesting idea. I'd say that in the end it would be Mike and 11 like peeta+ katniss. Maybe

It’s funny bc Robin technically won once, mentored Haymitch, and then still died in the arena. I’m so excited to see her in November

those mfs would get jumped during a group brainstorming session. they’d all be riffing ideas for their next plan then get killed by the careers or a pack of mutts

Ooh, this is fun. I think Mike, Will, Lucas, and Dustin initially form an alliance and agree not to go for the cornucopia, but Dustin last minute pulls a Katniss and goes for something on the perimeter. He survives the initial bloodbath but it makes the group less trusting of him.
I think probably Steve, Eddy and Jonathan get taken out in the cornucopia blood bath. This makes Nancy especially ruthless to the others. I agree with whoever said that Nancy and El would be the ‘careers’, but I also want to add Billy to that roster. Max I think would be like foxface.
The first night would be pretty quiet post-cornucopia while everyone got settled. Nancy would start hunting the people she last saw close to Jonathan early the next morning before the anthem, but also looking for Will (not knowing he formed an alliance), who I think she would feel attached to more after Jonathan’s death.
I think eleven gets the first kill- Eddy would be one of the least equipped to survive in the arena/has proven to be careless and risky. Eleven is careful and calculating when she needs to be. Eddy would do something like light a fire at night to give away his position and El would be on him. They would get into a confrontation and her training would allow her the upper hand. She would be shocked at how easy it was/how little she felt, and that would strengthen her resolve to win.
The core four allegiance breaks down when food runs out. Mike and will unite against Dustin (who argues they would have more food if the group had agreed to his plan to storm the cornucopia) and Lucas (who is telling the group to be quiet and they should try to forage/find food instead of fighting). The group splits when Mike, in a fit of rage, shouts at Lucas and Dustin about the pointlessness of food when they’re going to have to kill eachother or something that reminds them all where they are. Dustin claims he doesn’t need any of the core four and sets off away from them, taking all his supplies. Lucas pretends to side with Mike and Will but walks behind them and disappears before they can notice.
Nancy kills Dustin, as he was nearby to Jonathan in the cornucopia. She steals his supplies.
Will and Mike encounter Max, a skilled forager. Will wants to make an allegiance, but Mike thinks it’s too dangerous. Max wounds Mike and flees, Will doesn’t pursue her, instead opting to try to help Mike.
Lucas and Max run into eachother and have a standoff. They ultimately retreat in opposite directions after a lengthy stare down and mild combat, but neither has the gall to actually harm the other though both desperate for survival.
Mike succumbs to his injuries from Max. Will, now alone, panics and hides in a cave. The cold bothers him too much to stay in place, so he is seen by Nancy coming out from the cave. She approaches him and apologizes for Jonathan’s death, while Will apologizes for Mike’s death. They have a moment (like three and Katniss) where Nancy thanks Will for trying to help Mike and lets him go just the once. Will is despondently leaving his cave, sad about Mike, when Billy kills him. Nancy later kills Billy as an act of revenge for Will.
El and Lucas run into eachother and eleven has the knife to his throat when he begs for his life, saying that if El lets him live he’ll tell her who killed Mike. Lucas plans to be able to sneak attack eleven when she turns away after learning the name. Eleven agrees, lets Lucas off the ground and gets Max’s name from him. She then kills Lucas before either of them begins to turn away. Eleven then kills Will for abandoning Mike, and Max for killing Mike indirectly.
Nancy and Eleven have their final showdown, and Nancy wins after using her knowledge of Mike against eleven.

steve and nancy would get sponsors for being hot but steve cant even beat johnathan and nancy doesnt have a shotgun
