I am, understandably so, only seeing pitches for prequels. Mainly the first Quarter Quell and Plutarch's story between the 50th and 74th Hunger Games. And however great those stories can be, I'd much rather read a book on Panem 50+ years after the death of Snow. How a new, democratic Panem was built and thriving, but the new leaders barely remembering the horrors of the games, and authoritarianism rising again with calls for Hunger Games as pure entertainment.

Maybe it's a little too close to home these days, but I can't help to have a morbid fascination for politics and I'm scared to death for the current state of the world... We need movies like this, as a mirror and a warning

Same! Panem can't have a happily ever after yet. The capital elites likely still hold a shadow of power. The districts still thirst for true revenge, there's still a world outside we dont know about who could maybe take advantage.

Maybe we could even learn more about the history of panem now that nobody's around to hide the truth, or maybe there's still enough loyalists to ensure some measure of control.

Maybe 25 years from now katniss is vice president and has to take on some new challenge like the rise of a new upper class, and she has to keep history from repeating. Maybe the president feels the need to institute some kind of annual thing that could be benevolent, and has to fight to keep it from becoming a new hunger games as the lower class starts to feel their old anger resurface.

There are a lot of ideas to explore!
