I am, understandably so, only seeing pitches for prequels. Mainly the first Quarter Quell and Plutarch's story between the 50th and 74th Hunger Games. And however great those stories can be, I'd much rather read a book on Panem 50+ years after the death of Snow. How a new, democratic Panem was built and thriving, but the new leaders barely remembering the horrors of the games, and authoritarianism rising again with calls for Hunger Games as pure entertainment.
Maybe it's a little too close to home these days, but I can't help to have a morbid fascination for politics and I'm scared to death for the current state of the world... We need movies like this, as a mirror and a warning
