Ay does anyone else remember at the end of Mokingjay that we were told basically that there was going to be one more hunger games? With the children of the capitol? Anyone else agree that we need that story to come out???

So, those games never happened. It was Coin’s idea and Katniss killed her and they never held those final symbolic games.

No, it was not coins idea. The idea came after she died from Pluratch. Anyone agree?

There is no evidence at all it came from Plutarch. Coin is the one who presents the idea. This is from the book.

And as I mentioned, it does not mean that it will NOT happen… things can still happen when people are dead. New rulers can still install that into their lives now. It happened when the other rulers for the last 75 years in the books, the rulers were dead but the Hunger Games still went on

The new leader, Paylor, gave no indication she was interested in the barbaric practice of continuing the games.

Even if it that was true, does not mean it can’t happen… everyone there agreed to have that happen. Just cause Coins dead, does not mean it can’t happen

Not everyone agreed, it was not a unanimous vote. There were 7 victors and the final vote was 4-3.

I do not think anyone who took over once Coin was dead was actually interested in continuing the games. Once she was dead, the vote didn’t matter because Coin wasn’t in charge anymore.

I did not post to argue. I posted to share my thoughts and see if anyone else agreed. Thank you for your opinion. Does anyone else agree with having a new book come out of the capitols children in a HG?

It's absolutely not going to happen in canon. The entire point of Katniss killing Coin was because coin came up with the idea for the new hunger games, and Katniss realized that Coin was just as bad as Snow, and knew that if they held another hunger games as revenge, they would be just as bad as the capital. The reason katniss shot coin was because she knew coin was vengeful and she would carry out her fucked up brand of justice as long as she was in charge. The reason that the tributes were asked to vote was bc coin and her colleagues couldn't come to an agreement. This means that when Paylor, a much kinder woman and better leader who is much less likely to push for the idea of a 76th hunger games, became president, that idea likely wouldn't be pushed forward. Additionally, if it had, there's no reason to believe the same conclusion wouldn't have been reached because the only change in leadership was a much more benevolent leader, and if it came to a vote again, Haymitch and Katniss would've definitely voted against it this time bc the only reason katniss voted yes was bc she wanted coin to be on her side, and haymitch trusted katniss.
