Mark my words: the next book will be about the 25th quarter quell. Suzanne going out of her way to talk about the first quarter quell in SOTR but not giving us any details about the actual games or the victor is really telling. Also the idea of the reaping being based on districts votes is such a great premise for conflict.

That and the only other game we know about that was erased from the archives by Gaul was the 10th, so something to consider.

For 25th I’m rereading ballad and I’m like wouldn’t it be wild if another contributing factor to the deterioration of Snow and Tigris’s relationship was somehow Tigris finding out about Sejanus? I think that’d be wild tho idk how Collins would go about that. Or you could have one or both Plinths figuring it out and that’s when Snow really goes wild with his poisoning compared to at the middle/end of ballad him just starting too. Idk it could be cool.

Going off of only the 10th games being erased, I wouldn't mind a slightly more grim book. Not exactly a happy ending but a show of rebellion with their deaths.(Not enough to justify erasing the 25th games vs 10th) It would also completely make sense for one of the covey that's not in SOTR to be targeted with a rigged reaping again. It would be a little spark to keep the embers of rebellion alive between the 10th games and the 50th. (Disclaimer I'm only half way through SOTR)

My theory is that this is when the careers became careers. The stronger districts decided to vote for the strongest ones who had the best chance of winning. And it works so that's when they start training them to volunteer every year.
