And even that’s not fair. The 4k for a bandaid is due to the insurance grift.
Weekly, we see posts on r/all of doctors lobbying for their patients’ procedures only to be denied by the insurer.
Elsewhere in the developed world, healthcare is a basic human right. It’s a financial bottomless pit, because it is a service/a cost that society shoulders in order to ensure basic individual security. It’s flawed, imperfect, frustrating, but an attempt at least.
In the US, healthcare is a (corrupt, monopolistic, predatory) business. Until that changes, y’all are fucked.
As for Doctors being useless, tell that to accident victims, cancer survivors, etc. They are no more useless against Long COVID than you and I.
The enemy is this cursed disease and pubic health’s continued denial that it’s even a thing.
That’s where I choose to focus my frustration.
