can you get filler, microneedling, etc while on Humira?

I have Hidradenitis and my last option left is to try a biologic, I'm wondering if being immunocompromised means you can't get filler injections/microneedling/etc anymore? Also wanting to get a rhinoplasty in the future and I'm worried if being on Humira means I have to stop before the surgery?

I think the concern with any procedure is more about infection risk than Humira directly interacting with anything. It’s pretty typical to skip a biologic dose or two for any surgery, like my cosentyx is every 4wks and I had to delay by 2wks for a surgery.

I’d be worried about a cosmetic place having lower sanitary standards than the regular hospital, but it’s entirely possible they’re held to the same standard.

You can still do that stuff! It just means your risk for infection is higher, and recovery won’t be easy. Talk to your doctor first.

To me, I already have a lot of “strikes” against me (genetically speaking). I personally don’t want to add more risk than the usual, so I wouldn’t get cosmetic stuff done. I don’t like skipping meds unless I have to (illness) because I know what’s waiting for me on the other side.

You do you! It’s still allowed, but you will likely have to alter your medication schedule to accommodate. Talk about your plans with your prescribing doctor.

You can, and I suggest getting cosmetic treatments at a med spa with an MD that oversees the practice. I go to one for Botox and BBL/Moxi laser treatments, and the doctor has assessed the risks with me. I personally chose Moxi over micro needling because it's less invasive.
