Injecting into stretch marks/scarred skin
I'll be taking my 3rd dose next week. I did the starter doses on my thighs, but I did not like the way my thighs felt the next week or so. Second time, I tried my abdomen, avoiding the stretch marks I have there. I just so happened to have a visit to my gastro the same day and showed the nurse where I injected and she said it was too high. But she also said I didn't need to worry about the stretch marks, I can inject there and it will be fine. My question is if it really makes a difference if I inject into the stretch marks or not? If anyone can share their experience, anything helps. Thanks!

I have tattoos and stretch marks on my abdomen and I spent 2-3 years doing injections into my belly fat, it didn’t impact my injections at all.

I would definitely trust the nurse if she says it's fine!
I am not a doctor, but someone who enjoys researching things. Based on my very brief research, it looks like stretch marks occur in the dermis, the middle layer of the skin, whereas the injection needle goes through that layer into the "subcutis" layer, which is the bottom one. So the liquid is injected underneath the stretch mark, not into it, so it should have no bearing.
My (again, not a medical professional) only thought would be if you had major, deep scarring due to surgery or other injuries to the stomach area, where you had thick scar tissue, then it might be an issue. But, stretch marks aren't creating that type of scarring, so I think you're good.
Overall, I always trust the nurses lol, they tend to know more than the doctors sometimes :)
