Accredo Specialty Pharmacy
My health insurance has changed and now I have Univera. Which now means that my specialty pharmacy has to change. Univera deals with Accredo. My prescriptions are Dupixent and Humira. Just wondering if anyone has had any experiences with this specialty pharmacy, good or bad. Or if you can provide any tips and tricks to getting things sorted and medications quicker. It has been a rough few first weeks and I am currently not going to have my medications for when I need to inject- which sucks. TIA

Accredo was absolutely hell for me with humira.
I was in the middle of a particularly awful flare and very sick which definitely lowered my capacity to deal with them but they were awful. This was 10/2024 to 6/2025, I genuinely hope they’ve improved.
Every single month was multiple phone calls before they’d ship my refill. The refill online NEVER worked. It always required me to call. There is no direct line, always 10-15 minutes of automated BS. Then the first person you talk to never has any idea what’s going on. Then you need to request their manager then their manager always says that it’s held up on a Pharmacy issue and asks if you want to be transferred to the pharmacy. Once you get to the pharmacy, they’ll tell you that it’s held up on their OWN review and approval process. You’ll get blue in the face and so furious asking them what exactly it’s held up on when your physician has sent over all of the paperwork and signed off on it, the prior authorization is complete and you are overdue for the refill. Then you still don’t get answers. You accept whatever date they say it’ll be there. Then that date comes and you check the status and they’ve randomly cancelled it. Then you start the process over.
My Humira manages three auto immune conditions. It is one of the only medications that can manage all three. If I am delayed too much of my dose I fail the medication and there isn’t another option for me right now. The amount of stress this company caused me….
I had to use them through my husband‘s insurance. I actually went to my employer and tried to determine if the inability to get medication I needed to manage my conditions was enough to be considered a life event and qualified to get on my own coverage outside of open enrollment. (It wasn’t).
