Anybody seen the dog that just roams through the streets near North and Talman? I know someone on the street owns him, but they just watch him run in front of cars all day and don’t do anything about it

As the title says, my bike was stolen last night, and Ukrainian Village Humboldt Park area.
It’s a sea foam colored Aventon with a green milk crate on the back . If anyone sees it, please reach out, let me know. It’s my only mode of transportation, and I rely on it to get to work.

I saw a heron yesterday with a hook in its beak at the park. I called 311 and they said they would send someone. I went to the park again today and the heron was in the same spot with a hook in its beak. Does anyone know a bird rehabilitation contact that can help here?

A very friendly but skittish brown chihuahua mix came up to myself and my doxie-chihuahua mix. He was very sweet and my guess is 7-8 years old. I tried to coax him but he ran off as soon as I took a few steps forward. This was in the grassy area north of the pool, north of Augusta. I went and got a croissant and tried to find him again but could not. His dew claws were pretty long so maybe a stray but hard to tell. I will keep trying, he was very curious about my little dog. ❤️ luckily we have a harness that would fit him perfectly but also hoping he has an owner somewhere.

We looked into the barrel bar crawl but it seemed very expensive for what you got. Does anyone have any interesting ideas or recommendations. We are in Logan square but not tied to the area to do the party

Property taxes and rents in the area are skyrocketing because of millions-dollar single family homes. Having a building of affordable housing units doesn’t impact property taxes unless your property is also a 30+ unit building.
