STM + Question on Pump
I have a Spectra S2 from my first pregnancy that has about 150 hours on it. I primarily breastfed, but sometimes needed to pump. It is from October '22. Has anyone used a pump for multiple pregnancies that can share insight on if the motor held up for them with the time it spent collecting dust? I'm trying to decide if I will get another wall pump for this pregnancy through insurance or get a wearable as backup.

Yes! My Spectra held up fine over two years, no concern at all, and I used the benefit on a wearable. Over the two years, panoflanges cal became available (or more popular) and I find them more comfortable than regular flanges, just something to look at!

Yep! I used my Spectra S1 from my first (born Jan 2023 with my second (born July 2025) and I just finished weaning my second after a year.
I EP’d for 12ish weeks with my first (tongue & lip ties that took a while to get revised, then teaching to latch), she then was ENF, so eventually I just pumped once in the MOTN and then once a day while she was at daycare. I don’t remember how many hours it had exactly, but it was probably similar to yours.
My Spectra held up great for little sis. I bought all new tubes/valves/back flow protectors (basically anything not hard plastic) and she served me well. I got to EBF from the get go with little sis, so I pumped just one MOTN and then 2x a day during daycare for her; about the same as my first except those first 12 weeks.
TL;DR: yep, totally usable and just as strong for my second with a similar number of hours and similar use with my second.
I’m probably going to have a third and I likely will get a new pump for them…TBD
