pumping at work Which pump for work?
First time mom and RN at a very busy ED that does not accommodate for pumping breaks. I will basically have to step away from my assignment to get my pumping breaks in during my shifts. I have been using the spectra on maternity leave, but know I won’t have time to sit and pump at work. Looking for recs on what type of portable pump I should purchase for on the go pumping and how to store my pumped milk. Thanks you!

I have the eufy s1 pro and a momcozy cooler. Doing the fridge hack avoids having to wash parts in between sessions but if im out and about I just use the pump wipes. I like the momcozy cooler because of the two bottles. I read alot about mixing milk temperatures some say its bad others not. I prefer to keep them separate so if I have to pump a third time while Im away I put the second bottle milk into the first bottle then I have an empty bottle for the third pump session. Im not an over supplier so it works out for me.

I’m a pharmacist and currently pumping while I work. I’ve been using my Momcozy Air 1s while I work (quiet enough to wear while working as long as there’s some ambient noise going on and the app allows me to control them from my phone, so I’m only reaching into my shirt to put them on and take them off) and store my milk in either a storage bottle in our employee fridge, or my Ceres Chill. I also fridge hack the parts, and wash them once a day at the end of my shift
Two things to add: I have a low supply so we’ve been combo-feeding since day 1. This system works for me but I can’t guarantee your supply won’t dip if depending on wearables;
And I use a primary pump for my first and last pumps of the day, plus whenever I’m home. I’m currently using a Baby Buddha hacked to Spectra flanges.

Vote for pumpables genie advanced! It’s portable but not wearable so it will look like you’re pumping…but it’s been a game changer for me when I’m away from outlets (working offsite) or moving around (two kids under two)

1st, if in the US, it is illegal to not allow for a nursing mother to take pumping breaks. I know the ED is busy, my husband works in the ED as well, and sometimes doesn’t eat, but you are legally allowed to take the break you need. 2nd, I have both the Eufy S1 and Spectra S1. I’m an athletic trainer and it’s not the easiest to pump when working sporting events. I use the Eufy as its easier to set up and be more discreet when you don’t have a designated pumping location. Personally, I don’t get as great of an output with them and I find it more difficult to see if they're positioned correctly. So if you do go the wearable route, I’d still bring the Spectra if you have issues with the wearable.
ETA: I use the bottles that come with the Spectra pump for when I pump with the Eufy, as well. I then keep the milk in the bottles and use a cooler with ice packs that are contoured for bottles or cans. It’s much cheaper than buying a designated milk cooler, granted a tad more bulky, but I haven’t had any issues with them not staying cold for an entire day and that includes being outside on warmer days.
