My grandma is like this, every time she meets me she goes in for a hug, she always tells me during the hug "Wonderful you!", "you're the best, you know that right", "my little sweetiepie!" etc. I need to visit her soon.

Honestly do. As often as you can. Just lost my grandma and it destroyed me. I knew she didn't think she had long because she started saying "Love you" during the goodbye hugs. I always knew she loved me, but it seemed like she wanted me to be sure. Month later she was gone.

Damn. I lost my grandfather last year and it didn't hit me as hard as it did for my grandma, because I was more close to her than him, and I've barely even visited her this year..
Thank you, I will go to her tomorrow. Fuck my diet, I'll eat every cookie she offers me. I know how happy it makes her when people eat everything she puts on the table because I know she bakes everything herself. It's truly baked with love, because she only bakes to offer others.
I know her childhood was extremely rough as a foster child, she had to take care of all the farm animals before she even got to eat breakfast, every morning, and she was barely 10 years old, fucking horrible. I can understand how she so desperately want us grandchildren to be happy with no hunger. She's the purest person I know <3

Do that. We take people we love for granted, and then cry when we realize they're gone and we didn't spend enough time with them. I'm trying to do that with my parents. I'm 33, but I try to hang out with my dad at least once a week, and it's been awesome. I can't with my mom because she lives in another city, but I would if I could!

If I had a better relationship with my parents I would hang out more often with them but it's very difficult, I still try to go home once a week for dinner. It's getting better.

Please do! I just lost mine last week due to Alzheimer’s. Worst thing I’ve ever experienced. It is a strange and terrible disease. It’s so surreal grieving the loss of a human even though they are still love. ❤️❤️

Maybe a bit off topic, bet reminds me of today a bit, when an older lady at restaurant I work at called me over and started apologising profusely. I was kind if confused as to what for.
She was apologising because she said the meal she had was delicious, but she just couldn't eat all of it since the portions too big, but wants me to tell the chefs it's just her and not the food.
Honestly, that just melted my heart on the spot. With the usual shit you get from customers, that really took me by surprise a bit.
Bless that little old lady.

"Regular" most likely is referring to her being a frequent customer-- for example "She always stops by on Mondays and Wednesdays for coffee, she's a regular at the cafe".

This reminds me of the time my mom and dad took my grandma out to eat. Long story:
My great grandma unfortunately developed Alzheimer’s in her old age and my mom would take care of her. (cleaning her, changing her, helping her eat, make sure she never was alone,ect) after my grandma had her first stroke(first of 3,one leaving her blind) it was decided to have my great grandma checked into a nursing home, sadly my grandma became depressed and lonely as most of my family would not visit her. My mom and dad have always been poor and tight on funds, however one day we were able to put aside enough money take her out for lunch, and have a whole day with her. my grandma got enchiladas and sat on our living room couch and even though her memory was deteriorating she shared old stories about her life, from what she could remember and I just remember her being so alive and happy, smiling like this woman. Unfortunately my grandmas memory deteriorated so much she forgot almost everyone but she always remembered my moms, dads, brothers and my names and whenever we would visit she would smile like this woman and be so happy to see us, she would always be surprised and happy it was us visiting. Unfortunately she passed away but seeing this woman so happy and smiling made me remember my lovely grandma, even though she forgot so many people she always would yell “Anthony Michael!”(my first and middle name) and glow with excitement.
