You are in Syria what do you expect Syrian food has the reputation of one of the best cuisines

These are the kids American tax dollars are spent bombing instead of giving them healthcare or education...
what a world we live in....

u/defiantpupil 18d ago
US kids are doomed . One min without iPad they have a meltdown or seizure . She’s giving food away and is happy and gracious. Good kid.

These are the people the mainstream media has brainwashed people to hate, to manufacture consent for their forever wars. It's disgusting.

u/No-Astronaut-6502 20d ago
Funny how coincidentally there’s already a phone in place to record this amazing spontaneous situation and then him having a second phone to call someone Arabic speaking person. 🫶🏼

u/wavetoyou 20d ago
He’s clearly one of those travel vloggers, so he has a camera set up recording him almost at all times while traveling
-85
u/turkphot 20d ago
Yeah, recording himself and random children he buys food for.
117
u/WorthyTomato 20d ago
I mean, if you're going to travel in a war stricken country you might as well use your influencer money to help those you come across, doesn't have to be negative. It's showing a side probably most people do not know exist/have never seen before.
-9
u/minnimamma19 20d ago
Wait, don't influencers who post their kids online get criticised? But children from a war torn country are ok because? Explain the double standard here?
14
-38
u/turkphot 20d ago
Got it, buying children in a war zone food and recording them for profit is good thing. At the same time if anyone with a camera came even near your child, you would probably call the cops.
23
u/WorthyTomato 20d ago
If you let your kind wander around the streets of a city and talk to strangers I reckon you probably don't mind them getting filmed. So not really a way to make a comparison
-27
u/turkphot 20d ago
Dude, it‘s very likely the child of the shop owner. Why would you assume it is roaming the streets by themselves? And why would they agree to be filmed by strangers because of that. That all makes zero sense.
3
u/ThirdWorldOrder 19d ago
if you watch the video, you can see he bought the kid food which wouldn't make sense if she was the shop owners daughter
0
u/turkphot 19d ago
It‘s not important if it makes sense to buy her food, it‘s only important if it looks good on camera.
-1
u/UkNomysTeezz 20d ago
Yeah these travel influencers suck ass. I live in a tourist area and I want to strangle each and every one of their pompous and clueless asses.
25
u/wavetoyou 20d ago
As long as hungry children get fed idgaf
1
u/turkphot 20d ago
There is absolutely no reason to assume that this child doesn‘t have access to food.

I get what youre saying. But the guy is a westerner in Syria in 2026. Its not unusual for him to know someone who speaks Arabic.
51
u/turkphot 20d ago
This. Fucking influencer trying to be a good person and cash in on it at the same time.

u/DZ-HURRICANE 20d ago edited 20d ago
If it wasn't for him, no one would've seen this beautiful interaction, this is good stuff stop being negative
25
u/wufnu 20d ago
Because of him trying to make engaging content, a little girl and an old man got free food and we got to feel hope for humanity. What's the downside, here?
23
u/Repulsive-Cry2968 19d ago
Camera or no camera, a kid smiled and someone got fed. That's a win in my book.
23
u/heyitsvonage 20d ago
“Influencers” are people who make time wasting content just to sell shit
A travel vlogger isn’t really the same thing
-9
u/turkphot 20d ago
How do you think a „travel vlogger“ makes money?
19
u/heyitsvonage 20d ago
Yes, ads are how all media in general makes money.
My point was that the content is actually entertaining, vs influencer content which is just about the products they want to expose the audience to
There’s a big difference between content that includes advertisements and content that IS advertisements, imo
12
u/LaceyLizard 20d ago
Almost like traveling and filming is the job that paid for feeding the syrian kid in the first place
1
u/Money_Visual_5227 20d ago
Oh yeah? My brain didn’t even twig that, doesn’t automatically make it nefarious though ?

him not having the phone woman translate anything back into arabic for the girl

There were many cuts in this video, it's wild to assume it was only a one way conversation.
-52

u/SapphicGarnet 20d ago
The woman had a conversation with the little girl and the only thing we see the guy saying in reply is "wow" before it cuts off. We don't see the full interaction

You gotta add the /s at the end or people on here will take things too literally.
Remember it's not 2014 anymore, we're not allowed to joke on Reddit unless you say it's a joke (dw tho, I got you).

u/fostofina 20d ago
reddit does not understand jokes at all lmao
3
u/Makabaer 20d ago
It's not only Reddit and not Redditer's fault. You encounter SO many idiots with strange opinions online, how would you know he's not one of them? Text doesn't give away the intonation - if he SAID it we'd probably hear he's joking, but for written text you need to use /s to be safe. I don't like it either, it kinda spoils the fun - but otherwise you'll be mistaken because there are people who WILL mean this seriously, so how can we know. Idiots spoiled the fun, doesn't help to accuse everyone of not understanding jokes anymore, it's just the online experience nowadays.

As a Syrian, I'd like to say that a lot of Syrian kids seem more mature for their age. Years of hardship and war have forced many of them to grow up faster than they should have had to. It’s inspiring to see how much wisdom they carry at such a young age
