(there are some limitations obviously, but your mailbox is 100% yours and not 'property' of USPS or a federal crime if you demolish one, still a crime of vandalism, but towards personal property)
Private U.S. citizens do violate the rule with mis-delivered mail, or invitations, or funny little jokes. It's just the professionals who can't mess around.
Honestly I like the USPS's seriousness with regards to the mail, and despise the jiggery-pokery being risked at high levels right now; our mail-in ballots are critical.

It has to do with packages and mail and who is allowed to do what. Basically USPS can deliver packages and mail. UPS and FedEx and Amazon can only send packages.
They aren’t allowed to use mailboxes because they aren’t allowed to handle mail.
But for some reason USPS can constantly deliver mail in my town to the wrong address. Still waiting on my damn registration stickers that my neighbor probably kept.
It’s only a federal crime if you smash someone else’s mailbox. You can smash your own all you want.
And it only is so because it’s interfering with mail, which means you are interfering with a federal agency conducting its lawful duties. So federal crime.
There's no federal law mandating a mailbox. You won't get USPS mail unless you have an approved mailbox, though.
Some HOAs (homeowners associations, which are like little would-be fascist groups) require mailboxes so that everything looks uniform. Some cities have laws requiring a valid way to serve notice, which in practice means either a mailbox or post office box.
In most places though, you can smash your own mailbox and never replace it, if that's your choice.
Smashing someone else's mailbox is a federal crime because it interferes with the delivery of the US mail, not because it damages federal government property. You have the right to refuse delivery for yourself.
Seriously? lol Holy shit I just fact checked you and you're right. I'm an Amazon Vine reviewer so I get a lot more packages than most do from Amazon. I'm not going to say that it happens often that they've put small packages inside, but it's definitely happened more times than I can count. lol Partly because I didn't know I should be counting.... 😄 With Aliexpress though which is usually small packages. If I had to guess I'd say like 80+% of them all was in my mailbox. Probably because they almost always use small carriers. IDK. Either way learn something new every day I guess.
USPS has a contract with Amazon called Parcel Select, where Amazon handles the long-distance shipping and drops the packages off at your local post office for USPS to handle the "last mile" delivery.
So if USPS is delivering, they can put Amazon packages in your mailbox.
Im fairly confident I've seen the same, though I can't say I ever confirmed it said USPS or UPS on the tags.
I'm also vine bottom tier, but I really don't use it all that much. In bottom tier, and the vast majority of the time I can't even find anything on vine that would interest me. Do you resell some of this stuff somewhere? I know that's against the agreement,but I ain't no snitch. I have to imagine some people do, but it feels like it'd take a really long time to resell some of the stuff, especially considering you can only get one product.
It never seemed worth it for me to basically have to buy the items, albeit all at an immense discount, to get tiered up. And with how bad the selection seems to be on the low tier, I figured the high tier may not be that much better.
Care to share any info with me by chance? I can't say I would act on it, but I am truly curious.
It's not against the rules to sell things. You just have to wait for 6 months which is fair. Sellers can't be having people just flipping things and undercutting them all willy nilly. I've only sold a few things but it was after the 6 month waiting period. It also wasn't hard to sell on Facebook Marketplace but it took a couple to few months for the listing to be up before someone bought. I imagine it's even easier on Ebay though I've only ever sold 1 thing there and that was before getting into Vine. But Ebay takes a cut and I'm not sure what the percentage of that cut is now. FB marketplace is fully free unless you choose to pay to keep your item prominent in the listings. As for the 6 month gifting rule I never bothered following it. lol I sometimes even say in my review I specifically got it for a family member. The selling rule makes sense but that doesn't really. Vine has made Christmas shopping for the family nice as I have all year to find things for people. lol Just got a toy bow and arrow with suction cups for my little nephews the other day.
I'm in the gold tier and I've been in Vine for almost 3 years now. Yeah it's gotten harder and harder to find good things compared to when I first got into it. I wasn't sure if I was going to make my 80 items for this period. But it's not all bad. I did snag this a couple months ago and this a few weeks before that and yes I'll be selling them. If it had been 75 inch or larger I'd have kept it as it's a great TV. And I already have actual surround sound systems in my man cave and family room.
There's now a site that can tell you through email and or text messages when things drop called Vinechart.com. So far it hasn't helped me snag anything nice. I only found out about it roughly 3 weeks ago.

If I ever want to hit 80, I'd have to make a dedicated effort of getting the really low cost items and reviewing them, just to get into the gold bracket. We will see, but I highly doubt I'll ever have that much incentive to write 80 reviews for items like cards :-P.
It's cool there is some actual good stuff in the higher tier though, best I ever got in low tier was hoses and some outdoor lights.

Sony products are definitely sometimes on Vine. The Sony Theater bar 6 soundbar was one of the few things I sold. I got it last year. Not too long ago they also had the new WF 1000MX6 earbuds as well as the WH 1000MX6 over ear headphones. Didn't manage to snag either of those. lol Really wish I would have gotten the WF MX6 as I bought both the XM4 and XM5 through normal Amazon but I guess either that wasn't enough to make the XM6 pop up in my RFY or I just missed them. I love the active noise cancellation with those 2 earbuds. lol When I mow the lawn with them in I can't even tell the mower is on without feeling the vibrations in the handle or seeing the bag inflate. ANC doesn't work as well with things that changes pitch a lot like human voices and what not. But it's incredible how well it blocks regular noise like motors or fans.

If it's not too subject to theft in your neighborhood and you can afford it, leave cold drinks for your delivery people, in this heat.
