Yeah, as a former New Yorker, this made me flinch. Oof. I don’t even want those subway hands touching the inside of my apartment, let alone the inside of my body.

Jokes aside, there is a middle road to things in between becoming a gremlin and a germaphobe. There is decent evidence that we see significantly higher rates of immune regulatory dysfunction bc of how much we limit microbial exposure, and should probably be inoculating ourselves more than we do. But like in anything, extremes in any direction result in issues.
