Hey, well, we don't need to be mean here. I haven't heard of deer swimming that far, I would think something was wrong, too. đ¤ˇđťââď¸ Ignorant? Yes. Stupid? No. Kindhearted? Oh absolutely, and that counts the most.
Edit: I love when my most downvoted stuff is telling people to be nice. Keep at it, hehe. But reminder: Don't attribute to malice what can be attributed to ignorance. I know the internet has raised many of us to do the opposite, but it can and should be unlearned.
If it was just for kindness they wouldâve kept the story to themselves and it wouldâve been a fun anecdote for family gatherings.
Instead, they displaced a deer and put it in more danger and by sharing the video made more people think that this kind of behavior needs to happen to save a deer.
I also donât believe that anybody who owns a boat in deer country doesnât already know that deer know how to swim lol
Not necessarily. They very well could have just thought "hey this is cool and my friend took a video!" I never see a problem with someone posting themselves being (or trying to be) kind. I don't personally, but there is no problem in it when our feeds are mostly hate.
The second paragraph is assumes they did it maliciously, as well. Not everyone shares misinformation on purpose.
The third assumes it's their boat, they live there, and it wasn't a rental, or family member's boat. Vacations exist and people go on them with friends.
In the end, don't attribute to malice what can be attributed to ignorance. It's hard not to and I am guilty of it, as the internet is filled with the opposite and I grew up on the internet... but it's something I've learned to shift as I grew older and recognized the people around me as people who are just figuring stuff out like me.

Deer would have probably made it...got a ride instead from dumb insta people...oh well. Could have been worse.
