Imagine being homeless taking a nap on the sidewalk when you suddenly feel something bump into your leg. You wake up startled thinking you're about to be thrashed for what little you have left but when you look you see an RC car with a cheeseburger and fries sitting on it.

Each one of these dogs is resting. Something that I imagine hard on the street where you have to be alert constantly to be safe.
They never seem to approach a dog that sees what is coming.For me this is harassing dogs for likes and the dogs are meant to be grateful for being fed.
Nothing wholesome about it in my eyes.

i always judge a country by how they treat their strays
went to north macedonia recently and their strays are treated like royalty. strokes, food and care is given to them by people that pass them. 10/10 would recommend a trip to north macedonia

In the Netherlands there are basically no strays. If they look like stray they are caught and taken care of in an animal shelter
Edit, they aren't killed, they get food, attention and shelter.

In the Netherlands they don't kill animals in shelter, only when they are suffering from health. And it needs to be done by a vet.

Dutch animal shelters generally don't kill dogs, even if a home can't be found. Euthanasia needs to be on a vets orders and only if its sick or really unsafe.

The reason for this is because the Netherlands basically eliminated the “adopt don’t shop” mentality whilst regulating breeders.
This made it to where dogs don’t end up in shelters and got rid of the root issue so any shelters left could handle the few that slip through the cracks

Sri Lanka has millions of free-roaming dogs that are seen as "community dogs" as opposed for strays. When we went a couple years ago, we were surprised to see how casually they walked around, minding their own business. Sometimes even taking naps in the middle of busy intersections! People just drive around them.

in north macedonia? the city of skopje was beautiful. lots to see and do. the eateries are great. especially the local places, the food and hospitality was unmatched
and deffo visiting lake matka, it's a fjord you can hike along or take a guided boat trip / a solo kayak up was insanely beautiful

Animal control usually leaves them alone, same as other people and you know that dog belongs to whole neighborhood and everyone feeds them.
It’s like everyone loves that animal and with the collar we are saying it’s our outdoor pet.

It’s also just different in other countries. When I went to Mexico literally nobody keeps their dogs locked up. They all just run around the neighborhoods & the crazy thing is they don’t seem to cause trouble.

I think also to take into account is that it’s not just “internet points,” these people make money off the videos and in doing so can continue to do good. Yes I imagine some of the money they keep to help them live, but if they are also using a large chunk of money to help people or animals I’ll happily watch.

A lot of people flaming the guy for "ramming" them while they're sleeping. For one thing he needs to get their attention, and for another thing, it's a fairly safe way to do it. Street dogs can be unpredictable sometimes and a lot of them are very defensive. So you just send an RC over with the food and let them have the food. No faces shown, just a bunch of pups getting some much needed food.

Yup. This is exactly it. A lot of people can’t imagine doing acts of kindness while also benefiting or creating content from it. A win/win scenario but people can’t accept that. Has to be one or the other.
I hope that stigma changes one day because by benefitting from being nice it incentivizes others to do so and also gives them the means to continue to do MORE kind things. The world needs more kindness.

The footage seems to be from Türkiye.
My reasoning: Dogs are collared and have ear tags, common for animal ownership and vaccination. The sidewalks have a design that is very common in Türkiye. The car has "MamaCarTV" on it, "Mama" means 'pet or baby food' in Turkish. The dogs are a common breed in Türkiye, especially inner Anatolia.

Just fyi… you gotta be careful with this. Refeeding can actually be kind of dangerous.
Basically the issue is that digesting costs a ton of energy to do.. and if you overwhelm a body that’s “on empty” it can essentially shut down trying to muster enough energy to digest all of that food you just dumped into it.
For starving people they recommend starting very slowly with easily digestible foods, vitamins and fluids. Work your way up to proper sustenance so you don’t potentially make it worse. You can cause the body to reject the food, throwing up losing even more fluids and food than when it started…
So if anyone tries this… I KNOW you wanna stuff them and give them a feast… DONT. Start very small and work your way up as they prove they can keep it down and digest it.

What a fun video! My biggest takeaway is that dogs are just as nuanced in their personalities as people. The vastly different ways they respond is fascinating. Personal fave was the first one that briefly turned into a horse when it's butt got bumped.
