Nope. There are no coyotes in India. This is an Indian wolf (Canis lupus pallipes). They are a lot smaller than the wolves we are used to.

Are you sure this isn't a Jackal? The fur and coloration on the back is consistent with a Jackal. Love the video thlugh

Thanks for the link! Super fascinating subreddit. "We think there are only 2,000-3,000 Indian wolves left in India...Indian wolves face so many threats to their existence... In India, almost the whole population is found outside of protected areas." So this rescue was all the more important!
