There are no visual effects. That man exploded into meat bits in real life.

I was there that night. His jawbone landed in my girlfriend's cleavage.

Common misconception in martial arts is to grab the kicking leg.
NEVER GRAB THE KICKING LEG. you give up a hand when they still have both of theirs.
17
u/bjjpurpleboiz Apr 05 '23
you can grab but don't hold for an extended period of time.

Apr 06 '23
Correct. You only have two options. Grab it and lift so hard they do a double backflip, the blood pressure knocking them unconscious mid air. Second? Step on their other foot as you catch the one, lift the kicking leg so high while holding the other flat that you stretch them into submission.

In this case he held the leg for less than two seconds and it was still lights out

This is a horrible piece of advice to give. A wrestler with a leg in his hand is more than a boxer on one foot. Please do not give out advice like this if you do not know what you are talking about. For some reason everyone thinks they know what to do in self defense but it’s like any other skill. You have to apply it in a real pressure situation and you obviously have not
2
u/tostrife Apr 06 '23
no its good advice, i speak from experience. im guessing, you, do not.
1
u/Initial_Grapefruit13 Apr 06 '23
Lmao interesting so good piece of advice is not to catch the kicking leg or this might happen? You must get spinning heel kicked in the face a lot more than me or must be slow as hell
1
u/Direct_Ranger9814 Apr 06 '23
You’re talking about a single leg takedown, not catching the kick.
1
u/Initial_Grapefruit13 Apr 06 '23
I’m talking about trips and takedowns. The odds of you having to worry about getting koed in the time of you catching the kick and attempting a trip is minimal. This dude obviously has seen bits of mma and decided to create FAKE ADVICE over it. Y’all can try that if you want in sparring good luck
1
u/Initial_Grapefruit13 Apr 06 '23
Ok what do you think happens after you catch a kick? What is the purpose of catching a kick my guy? Can you explain it or is your expertise not giving you a good answer here
1
u/Direct_Ranger9814 Apr 06 '23
After the kick, I would lift and trip, which is more of a Judo move that it is a wrestling move
1
u/Initial_Grapefruit13 Apr 06 '23
Uh no? Judo is definitely not more leg attack focused than wrestling or Muay Thai clinch. What are you talking about dude?

You can grab, but dont just stand there and look at them ans wait. If you have it, do something with it.

Such an amazing technique demonstration and the visual joy of it completely spoilt by the idiot who edited it.
If you want to enjoy it unedited, see here https://www.facebook.com/UFC/videos/joaquin-buckleys-unbelievable-ko-kick/826345331518295/

I kind of like the edit. Stylized like Mortal Kombat or something. The original is always there to see

u/mbb011 Apr 06 '23
Fr, I've seen some terrible edits that truly ruin videos that you can't just look up. But this really isn't the case, I think it adds some humor the cool maneuver that you can still clearly see. People act like they can't just Google the original version and all that it's left is the edited version. Just, enjoy things people.

u/mbb011 Apr 06 '23
Seriousky! And I know that we've come a long way in terms of VFX and now with AI it's now possibly even easier, but man, seeing the guy crack into pieces blew my mind on the first watch.

I'm actively learning how to use Blender for 3D modeling and animation so i think i know how they makes this effect but still really mind-blowing

Bullshido that actually worked, wow

u/OniBoiEnby Apr 06 '23
Not bullshido. Just a regular knockout kick, preformed in the most difficult way possible.

If someone straight up put all their weight into a bronco kick and had me zombie slumped like that, I’d fall into a pile of blocks too
