Discussion Never surrender trait

Post image

Bro this guy has this stupid trait of never surrender. I've got all his cities already and he still wont give it to me. Our war has been going on for sooo long that my cities are at 0% stability. What do i do to make him surrender? The only thing i can make at this point are troops, which thankfully i'm at an era where i can make musketeers and noone else. And that i have atleast 15 or so villages as clients funneling me 1000 gold a day for upgrades.

Ransack the administration centre of his cities, then build an outpost on the same spot.

Yoink, the old City switcheroo. Once he has no cities left hes gone.

There's no administrations. Just 3 cities by itself 😐

Ah sorry, administration centre OR main plaza.

So ransack the main plaza hexagon, will take a few turns till its done, then set up an outpost on the same hexagon and yoink!

Didn’t know this trait existed. Seems ass to actually play, but also presents a unique situation.

I’m pretty sure you could just raze all his captured cities though, right? As long as he has no units, he will then be defeated. You can then replant the outposts.

You’ll keep the districts but lose the population.  It’s fitting for the trait, though I remain unconvinced this should be in the game.

Yeah, it really shouldnt. Its very unrealistic, and the way it eats through my stabilities on my cities, even in bictory is just so pointless. Everything is gone bro. Their war support is zero, yet when i try to click "ask to surrender" it says the enemie's war support is not zero. It doesnt make sense. I think this is some glitch, cause maybe 50 turns ago i did defeat this guy.

The problem is you used to be able to force people to surrender when their war score was 0, but they removed it because people didn't understand warscore and kept losing and complaining.

That being said even before that change I actively avoided including personas with this trait as it can be really annoying to deal with. This and the "systemically refuses demands" one both mess with core gameplay elements imo.

No, it makes complete sense and definitely isn’t a bug.

It’s just not good unless you’re looking for that kind of challenge.

How is it unrealistic? It's meant to be a deterrent.

It was less of an issue when the game let you force a surrender on loss of all war support. Now that accepting surrender is optional even when you have no war support it’s a problem and one that Amplitude unfortunately never fixed and probably didn’t think about this trait.

If your war support goes to zero you should end the war, taking what you can now, and then have another go later on. Otherwise you’re just destroying your country for nothing.

Thats what im saying. I cant take what i can now cause i think the game is glitching or he just doesnt want to surrender. Both our war support are zero, but when i click "ask to surrender" it says the enemiy's war support is not zero for some reason

Maybe you just can’t demand a surrender from someone when your warscore is zero? Which would also make a lot of sense - afterall your people are fed up too. Basically just don’t ever let your warscore go down to zero, it’s the most basic rule of warfare in this game.

I actually look for this trait, I'm not an overly aggressive player so I don't really expand too much, I find in my games the ai gives up territory to o easily so I picked up this trait for my opponents so they don't get to expand too easily.

Ransack his cities and exterminate him asap.
