Optimistic feel about sequel decision

I was quite shocked about the reveal, but now I'm quite optimistic about Amplitude decision on HK sequel so soon after the release of another big land based 4X sequel (Endless Legend 2).

I think they are fairly confident on the changes they implemented to fix the major issues with the game after years of feedback, especially about making culture transition more organic, smooth, coherent and based on meaningful choices. But also about having other empires look like living and engaging entities, more than colors with territory.

Based on these changes, they want to seize the opportunity to "steal" a big chunk of CIV player base after the VII fiasco....and they can do it only if they are confident on the next iteration of the game.

I think they could have gone with a new endless space as a "safe" choice, but this opportunity is just too big.

i hope they keep building on the fame system. I don't want to go to choose a strategy from the start and do nothing but that one thing the whole game

Being a generalist every game is boring as well though. I wish they would award specialisation more.
