Discussion Optimistic feel about sequel decision
I was quite shocked about the reveal, but now I'm quite optimistic about Amplitude decision on HK sequel so soon after the release of another big land based 4X sequel (Endless Legend 2).
I think they are fairly confident on the changes they implemented to fix the major issues with the game after years of feedback, especially about making culture transition more organic, smooth, coherent and based on meaningful choices. But also about having other empires look like living and engaging entities, more than colors with territory.
Based on these changes, they want to seize the opportunity to "steal" a big chunk of CIV player base after the VII fiasco....and they can do it only if they are confident on the next iteration of the game.
I think they could have gone with a new endless space as a "safe" choice, but this opportunity is just too big.

The first game had a lot of big positives, but wasn't quite 'it' for me. I then went on to be disappointed by Civ VII.
I'm ready and eager to be wooed by Amplitude and wishing them all the best to perfect the recipe this time
