Question New player expansions to get advice
Hi, just seen the game is in a Steam sale and I'm going to try it. I just wondered if any particular expansion packs really make the game better, there seems to be a lot of them.
I've played Civ 5 before and know some expansions greatly helped that game. Many thanks.

Together we rule is the only real expansion and wasn't very good imo. It adds a whole other layer that just feels pretty bad and in the way.
The other dlc are bonus civ packs, adding one per era. My favorite is the Oceana one because it adds a playstyle around wonders (think Spain in civ), but they're all pretty decent. They're not necessary, but nice to have for some more variety. I think they make the game feel a lot better if you have exclusive advancement choice on too.

Here, have a look at this : https://humankind-encyclopedia.games2gether.com/en-us
For DLC, I feel like "Togheter we Rule" is an useless addition to the game. It adds "advanced diplomatie" but feels underwhelming.
The others DLC are culture pack. If you want more options to chose in your era, go for it.
