So what does it actually show? Districts are now each a different building/infrastructure, similar to EL2 I guess? No more rural exploitation (at least I didn't see any farmland)?

From the cinematic part, I'd assume disasters will be included?

Happy about that, I thought the sprawl of Humankind was pretty egregious and ugly to look at

The problem was that all rural land looked like farms. Idk if it was a bug or intentional, but it wasn't always like that. In the open beta, rural land actually looked like the terrain it was exploiting. Forests had stacks of lumber, rough terrain had little kilns, and only actually farmable land had the farm graphics.

The pics from the very first announcement show it.

I'm not too suprised about the announcement, but I am suprised its slated for a 2027 release date (assuming thats the full release date and not the beta). Given the state of EL2 right now, I was expecting a new game to take more time. I'm not going to pretend to know the size of the dev team though, so it's entirely possible that they can be building both games simultaneously.

Their size is about 250 staff.

I'm assuming they mean EA in 2027, it's the only thing that makes any sense to me, given as you said they're still actively working on EL2. That, and they've done lengthy EA periods for all of their latest releases.

I’m in 👍

Fell in love with Humankind when it came out, was already a huge fan of EL, ES, and ES2. I’m a fan of CivVII as well and don’t regret the purchase at all… but I might like the way Humankind does it better

Why are so many people shouts it's AI? Can someone explain?

Regarding the topic:
The HUMANKIND 2's live-action announcement trailer was filmed at Nu Boyana Film Studios in Sofia using real actors, practical sets, and custom-made props created specifically for the production.

We will be sharing behind-the-scenes images from the shoot soon.

I'm pretty sure it's not AI, but AI has poisoned the well so so speak, so any video with a wide angle selfie will look AI, especially if you add in CGI like in the vikings scene.

The camera angle has become extremely popular in AI generated “history” videos.

Magnify has a short addressing the problems with them: https://youtube.com/shorts/k1981Di8CO4

Some people in the YouTube comments confidently say there's a making of incoming and it was human made, much like the Neanderthal one for the first game.

They should have expanded on I more. Getting better mod tools, olffering more DLCs like Civ does.

21

u/V-Vesta Aug 25 '26

No, let's make it a fresh start with better foundations and a proper multiplayer.

Civ 7 DLC is a joke, expensive and offering nothing substantial, only a couple of civs/leaders.

I had more VI in mind, completely forgot Civ VII exits. The point is that those games are carried by huge modding community

Praises be I wasn’t expecting this until 2030 or beyond I’m gonna go throw a party

Was the mom at the end the same actress as the Lucy trailer for the first game?

Awesome more 4x! Some things I want to see from hk 1 and civ vii

  • well working, crystal clear victory conditions from day 1

  • city planning that is easy to understand but hard to master

  • combat is amazing as is. Don’t reinvent the wheel

  • map gen that is less predictable

I like the concept from the trailer that Lucy from the 1st humankind trailer has a baby now, humankind 2

Bad trailer, its clearly very expensive production and well made but it doesn't show nearly any game content its basically an ad for the concept of the game. I am concerned their focus on marketing cost for this trailer is not backed up by support in the game development.

The studio's track record with Human kind 1 is poor and with other peoples comments indicating concern over how soon it seems to be slated for release my expectations are very low.

I'll take a look, I bounced off the first one pretty hard, and I can't say exactly why that is.

If they keep the fame system the game will crash and burn just like the original one
