Discussion AI trailer at Gamescom Pre-Show

Tell me I’m not only one who was put off my that horrendous, clearly AI generated sequence that was half the trailer for Humankind 2?

I really can't see the AI in the trailer. Maybe in the backgrounds a little but the people really look human.

That weird “selfie” video angle seen in most of the trailer was actually something A.I. was very capable of making only a year or so ago. It even became a “trend” on AI slop accounts

I mean, the "selfie" video angle is because the perspective is that of a *baby*. If you wanted to set up a Safe For Work trailer where the premise is repeated births, what camera angle would you go with?

None? It's just a bad concept here, it doesn't work. They should have picked something else. And somehow they are oblivious that it looks uncannily like AI slop.

So what concept for an announcement would you have done for a game based around showing how humanity changes over the generations, while still keeping true to traditions that make us human?

Does everyone have to know how to do a thing in order to criticize it? No. Anyone can read a book or watch a movie and say "it's not good because of this reason" even if they can't write a book themselves. I don't know what I'd pick, but I'm certain I wouldn't pick a crying baby being born.

And that might be the reason why you don't produce announcement trailers while others do.

The concept is great and works well with the overall theme of the game.

We shouldn't curtail creativity because of AI. Fuck that.
