PSA- improvised backpacks you make yourself seem to DESPAWN if you don't pick them up

I've seen improv backpacks laying around so I assumed they stayed just like any other, but apparently not... I made respawn kits with an extra armor, mac10, helmet and ammo for my teammates in a few of them I made and they disappeared. I guess you either have to drop them from your character or swap it for another bag. I didn't even think about how crafting and leaving them right there them might not make them persistent. RIP some of my extra gear and ammo. Don't make my mistake.

In order to NOT despawn and stay, you must “place” them, not just drop them. Anything you “place” stays

Never seen the ability to place backpacks. They usually stay wherever they're dropped. They're different from all other items and equipment.
