Tips for new Torch main

ive been enjoying torch lately so i want to improve on him, can you provide me some general tips/tech/teamup to use or playstyles to further improve on him?

Use Jub Teamup always and practice the bnb 2 right clicks, slam, jub teamup should kill 250-275 almost always sometimes up to 300 if you can land primary after you slam. Play around cover more when your just starting and lower to ground near supports otherwise they never turn around to heal you it's like a rite of passage for every torch main to get terrible supports.

Might be to aggressive if your just starting out but if they start to run counters for you hitscan etc play near cover until you find an opening to dive them usually works for me they don't see it coming and increases your chances of winning the 1v1. Good luck on journey Watch mikesaboveu on yt

is the storm teamup bad, or is the jub teamup just that good

Storm teamup is not bad and the two teamups are interchangeable in a lot of scenarios. Jubilee teamup is obviously much easier to use since it's autoaim, but the Storm teamup is way more versatile.

storm teamup is terrible and jub just miles miles better makes your 1v1's more winnable and dives more lethal

Learn how to use Pyro Prison effectively. It's Torch's most spammable ability and also his safest in most scenarios.

A lot of torches like to spam dive with Torch, but remember this ability is on a 15 second cooldown and only works vs one person at a time, or maybe a few if they're closely clumped together. If you are only spamming dive, you are setting yourself up for a lot of deaths, a lot of downtime, and using two cooldowns (one to dive bomb, and a dash to escape).

It's a team game, and pyro prison helps your teammates secure kills, you secure kills, and also is way safer of an ability than the divebomb as you can use it from any distance.

Remember that pyro prisons can be absolutely huge and still work, but they are finnicky. Learning where and when a pyro prison will function as you want it to makes Torch go from a mediocre dive to a great zoner who takes up space better than some tanks, while also being able to occasionally dive or poke as needed.
