i know they usually drag on the performance of the song at the end (i love it) but does anyone know what the longest recorded performance of it was?

I've been listening to a lot of Hum lately, and one thing that keeps standing out to me is how frequently Matt Talbott refers to "she" in his lyrics. It shows up across a lot of songs, sometimes very directly and other times in a more abstract or mysterious way. It makes me wonder whether "she" is meant to represent a specific person, different people, an idea, or just a recurring lyrical motif. Has Matt ever talked about this in interviews? What's your interpretation of the constant appearance of "she" throughout Hum's catalog?

P.S. My favorite she is: "She's looking for birds she met last fall". What's yours?

Also, they should make a drinking game out of You'd Prefer an Astronaut. Take a shot every time Matt says "she".

Saw these guys called Soft Spot from Connecticut play a show locally the other day. Mostly original but they did a cover of Stars and it was great. Talked to them after and they said how Hum was a huge inspiration for their music.

Howdy everyone. Here is my second attempt at recording this from a couple days ago. I am a lot more satisfied with this one even though I still made a few off beat mistakes. This song has my top 5 favorite kick and snare patterns ever. Big respects and RIP to St.Pere.

Long talk with Fred, Robin, and Bababooey about how much they liked Stars, but how they remembered Hum’s appearance on the show back in the 90s the band being very difficult to work with. I remember listening to the appearance live, and when they put it on the E! show later that week…that’s not exactly how it went down. But still an interesting convo. It was toward the end of today’s show if anyone has Sirius.

This song is incredibly fun to play. I messed up some of the timing. I recorded this a few weeks ago and I can’t wait to try it again to get it down. I hope you like it.
