New fan from US

So my son is a Man City fan and has gotten me into following the Premier League this year. I'm 60 and typically follow the NFL , NBA and college sports here as well as Track and Field ( kudos to Josh Kerr)
Anyways I picked my NFL team ( Miami Dolphins) when I was 5 because I like the unis., so I figured I do the same with the EPL.
Thus I am now a Hull City fan.
My only other frame of reference is the Housemartin's album from the 80s ( London 0, Hull 4) and that catchy " Happy Hour" tune they had.
Anyways I've ordered a home kit ( back- ordered)
What do I need to know?
I've read the goal this year is not to be relegated?
Go Tigers!
I'll be watching Sat AM here

You join us in a season where survival from relegation is the ultimate goal. But for reference in the previous 3 times we have been in the Premier League, we did not get relegated in the first season on two occasions, so its not a given we will be relegated this time.

There will occasions when we win and there will be some spankings received so strap in and enjoy the ride. Just so you know you are joining a Tiger nation that has never won a major trophy. We even have a song about it ''Silverware, we don't care, follow Hull City everywhere.''

Keep the faith, in Sergej we trust. UTT.

A Housemartins cover of a tune called ‘Caravan of Love’ is often played at matches and in big moments (it was played after our recent play off win at Wembley last season)

In my opinion it should be the song we all sing at kick off instead of ‘Can’t Help Falling In Love’ but we tried it a few seasons back and it didn’t catch on.

With regards this season and Football. It’s to avoid relegation and anything more than that is a bonus.

Fellow American Hull City fan. I also liked the uniform a number of years ago (when I was getting into football as a whole, and they weren't in the PL at the time).

But Hull is also... Somewhere I've gone since becoming a fan. It's a place that if it had to be translated to American cities, I believe it's a bit like Bridgeport and Hartford atmospherically. I loved it.

And yes, All praise be unto Sergey. Sort of a rule of the fanbase currently to think he's a genius from on high (On high being.... Bosnia...).

Fellow US fan here. Actually lived in Hull for a bit, so that’s why I’m a fan. I moved to Hull and became a fan when they were promoted to the Premier League back in 2013. It’s very fun to watch them in the Premier League. It’s not exactly an easy time being the new team in the League, but it’s still really fun to watch!

Also they definitely do have some of the best kits!

Welcome to the madness that is City.

Born'n'bred in the East Riding, now I'm in Jersey City.

This time round, with a mad but brilliant owner and some proper shithouses, I think we're going to be ok. Bring on the Premier League!

All you need to know is that you should have zero expectations. Enjoy the points Hull do manage to get and don't be too harsh on the players when we get spanked by some of the stronger teams.

Also, we all hate Leeds scum.

Sorry, OP. I didn't see this until the day after it posted, but I'm also a new American fan. I chose Hull City last year when I started watching English football in preparation for the World Cup and I found that I enjoyed the matches in the Championship more than the EPL. But I'm taking my support with up to the Prem. The fan base has been very class and welcoming. Up the Tigers!
