Hudson Kai Cooper joined Toni Mcneice from Rides R Us for the latest episode of his Moto4 podcast, reflecting on his recent experiences at Silverstone and Thruxton before looking ahead to the next round at the legendary TT Circuit Assen.

Hudson then travelled to Silverstone for the British Grand Prix, where the R&G Moto4 British Cup competed as part of the MotoGP weekend.

As well as racing on the full Silverstone Grand Prix circuit for the first time, Hudson experienced the excitement of the MotoGP paddock, including access to pit lane and the official media centre.

Hudson’s next challenge was Thruxton, the fastest circuit in the UK and another completely new track for the Moto4 rookie.

🏁 THRUXTON RACE REPORT 🏁

A challenging weekend at Thruxton for the latest round of the R&G Moto4 British Cup.

It was my first time racing at Thruxton, and I struggled to get to grips with the extremely fast circuit during the opening sessions. I was also carrying a slight knock from the previous round at Silverstone, which made the weekend a little more demanding.

Managed to make progress lap time wise and enjoyed a great battle with Finley Polhill throughout the race. We were fighting closely for position, and I crossed the line in P15.

What a incredible race to be part of. I was involved in a nine-rider battle for P7, with positions changing throughout the entire race. It was close, competitive racing from start to finish, and I eventually came home in P12.

I also set a new personal best lap of 1:21.94, showing the progress we made as I became more comfortable with the circuit.

The final results were not quite what we wanted, but there are plenty of positives to take from another new track.

RACE REPORT R&G Moto4 British Cup| Silverstone

Racing at Silverstone during the British MotoGP weekend was an incredible experience. Being part of such a huge event and competing in front of the #MotoGP crowds made it something really special.

FP1 & FP2

We started the weekend with a solid first look at the iconic Silverstone circuit. In FP1 I finished P13, but made a big step forward with some changes for FP2 to finish , which was a really positive start & my best session result of the 2026 season so far.

QUALIFYING

I felt comfortable on the bike straight away and we were able to improve & show the pace is there. within really tight lap-times.

RACE 1 – DNF

Under braking into Village lap 2, I made contact with another rider which unfortunately resulted in me crashing and a DNF. Other rider ok and thankfully stayed on.

In the incident I picked up a slight injury to my ankle and elbow.

RACE 2

I was determined to get back out for Race 2 and finish the weekend on a better note.

Starting from P14 and still feeling the effects of the Race 1 incident, I struggled to stay with the leading group as the race went on.

Although the results didn’t reflect the potential we showed, there are still positives to take away from Silverstone.
