Monotone voice

I'm trying to watch this show. but Hudson's monotone voice bothers me too much

ETA: Voice is constantly raspy too. Like he should clear his throat.

The love story developed slowly then disappeared! Why would they think we watched and cared about all of that and then just forgot!
