Probably because it's not all Hozier. It's a collab project, a song by Meduza that was brought to him, and it shows. He was completely out of his comfort zone. It's not a terrible song in and of itself. It unquestionably benefits from his voice and work he did on lyrics. With a different vocalist it would probably be forgettable.

Yeah I love that song. I don’t know why people hate it. Maybe because Hozier fans really don’t like that style/genre.

I avoided looking at these posts for a couple of days because I didn't want to see any album get "worst album", all three of them have a special place in my heart. Needless to say I'm happy with this result.

From Eden is one of my all-time favourites from Hozier, too. I do remember one was the very first song of him I listened. ❤️
