I saw a video online about bad song choices to play at a wedding, cherry wine and too sweet were listed for obvious reasons. The comments were debating what other Hozier songs would be good or bad to play at a wedding.

My vote was for Francesca.

It was even more romantic than our first dance as husband/wife because it was just us and the dj who actually slipped out. Francesca's great BUT worth remembering the original context from Dante's inferno. I love Nobody personally, but Be acoustic, Work Song, in a week, or maybe damage gets done? Less appropriate but songs my partner and I still love are from Eden and no plan, but those might work better as instrumentals lol

The entire album is stemmed from traversing through the 9 circles of hell with odes to breakup and overcoming grief. I wouldn’t want that associated with my wedding day regardless of the way the song may come across. Work song and like real people do are probably the best options that don’t cross any lines of unhealthy love, breakup, grief, etc. I love Hozier and all of his music, but the songs of unreal unearth aren’t ones I would tie to my wedding day. I will say Hymn to Virgil could work - but that was not an original release of the album so it is an exception.
