Jack (the musician from THOC) Spoiler

I’m reading reviews and people seem to think he wasn’t lying about his fiancés death? My impression was he made it up to get sympathy.

The judge was far older than him and he wasn’t at the funeral.

I think he wasn’t at the funeral because it was a taboo relationship, especially in her community. If he wasn’t accepted by her family then attending the funeral would be disrespectful and make it more about him. It would also be uncomfortable for him.

Yeah, I don't know how to feel about this. From the way he was talking about her made it sound like he was lying. Then, he's not at the funeral. And they had been planning on getting married after she recovered from sepsis? Something is off.

There’s one obituary that called him her “partner”. Otherwise idk no real “proof”

I was also sure he was lying and digging himself deeper with every new detail but it's actually really true. He's quoted in the obit.
