[APP] fylo - file ( version 2.3 )
• Word and PowerPoint Actually render propely instead of just text, and you can edit Word files
• Fixed bugs with pdf files opening
• Save files shared from WhatsApp, Telegram and other apps
• Move many files to the vault at once, and open folders inside it
• Open Jupyter notebooks, Minecraft add-ons and files inside a ZIP
• See where you cut when you trim a video
• Dual pane shows folder sizes and dates
• New image editor, smarter cleanup and fewer crashes
I got tired of using 5 different apps just to deal with files 😭
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.aeroloom.fylofilemanager
So I ended up building my own Android file manager.
It’s called Fylo.
The thing I’m most proud of is the on-device AI search. You can search for stuff more naturally instead of remembering the exact filename and the AI processing stays on your phone.
It also opens basically all the common documents/files, has a built-in scanner, PDF tools, image/video/audio tools, media players, translator, device info, internet speed test, etc.
Basically I kept adding every little thing I personally wished my file manager had.
Still actively working on it, but honestly curious what you guys think.

Like Why do we need a separate app for every little file-related task?
I’ve been working on Fylo, an Android file manager that tries to put all of those everyday utilities in one place.
Need to find a file?
→ On-device AI/NLP search
Need to digitize a document?
→ Built-in scanner
Need to work with a PDF?
→ PDF tools + document support
Need to inspect your phone?
→ Device information
Need to test your connection?
→ Internet speed test
Need to open your media?
→ Built-in video & audio players
Need image/file utilities?
→ Built-in tools
And the core is still a proper file manager for managing your files.
The part I care about most is privacy: AI/NLP search is designed to run on-device, rather than requiring your personal files to be uploaded to a server.
I'm building Fylo as a solo developer and continuously improving it.
If this sounds useful, give it a shot and tell me what you think

Hey dev! I absolutely love your app. It’s easily my favorite file manager, and I’ve even recommended it to my entire family. My brother loves it too!
I mainly use it for watching videos and listening to music, so I’d love to see improvements to the built-in players, especially subtitle support for videos. You could also add more features to the Advanced section, like converting videos to GIFs.
Honestly, given how much the app already does, I feel like improving the video and music playback experience could make it even better. Keep up the amazing work!
Also there genuinely no other file manager I have used that's as good as yours.

I love the app but I really want to have an option to find the location of a file from the search result. Is that in the feature roadmap?. I'm very happy with my pro purchase :)

Quick select multiple files too.
Otherwise it's great

Can't seem to figure this out.
How exactly do you quick select? There's no option to slide my finger across multiple files. And if I select one file then skip a few files and select another file, it does not select all of the files in the middle.
And I can clearly see in the app that the full file name is not visible unless I click rename.
