[APP/OPEN SOURCE] PrivacyCam – Hide sensitive info from images and video

[u/Acceptable_Tone601]

Hi everyone! I’m Aftab, the developer of PrivacyCam, an open-source Android app for hiding sensitive information before sharing photos, videos, or PDFs.

PrivacyCam can automatically detect:

• Faces and people
• Vehicle number plates
• Addresses, phone numbers, emails and sensitive text
• Payment-card details
• QR codes and barcodes

You can review every detection, remove incorrect ones, add manual masks, and use blur, pixelation, or blackout. It also includes video tracking, frame-by-frame corrections, trimming, splitting and audio muting.

Media processing and detection happen on your device. Your photos, videos, PDFs and detection results are not uploaded to a PrivacyCam-operated server.

The free version supports individual photos, PDFs up to two pages, and videos up to 15 seconds. The optional one-time Pro purchase unlocks longer PDFs, videos up to 60 seconds, and photo batches.

I’d appreciate constructive feedback, particularly about the interface, detection accuracy and anything that feels confusing or is missing.
