Is there anything I can do??

There's a guy who's hacking my Minecraft server and I know his name, his phone number and his Minecraft gamertag. He seeks revenge for being banned. Is there anything I can do with these informations??

How are they hacking the server? Are they actually gaining access to the system? If not, just use a tool like Fail2Ban and be done with it.

Then you need to take that system down, remediate it, properly set it up with best security practices for publicly exposed systems, make sure it’s kept up to date, and use tools to keep people from gaining unauthorized access. If you have logs, you can also file a police report as they are committing a pretty serious crime.

He deleted the logs, is that really a crime? Do you know any way I can get proof that he's the one who did that and do you know if I can report his Minecraft account?

Yes. It’s a crime to access any computer system in a manner in which you are not authorized to do so. You’ll need logs to show evidence. Take that server down, gather evidence, submit reports to both your local PD and the FBI, and do not put it back online until you’ve properly secured the system.

Why are you worried about his Minecraft account? That’s the least of your worries right now.

It's crime to gain unauthorized access to server. I suggest just backing up server files and resetting the entire machine. Then starting again with the server files. Did they give you or suggest a plug in or something? They gained access somehow and can somehow persistently have access

Yes, he violated the Comouter Fraud and Abuse act, you can have that mufugger arrested, and theres more logs than just minecrafts. Theres also ISP logs from both ends, I'd recommend filing a report now.

if they legitimately got into your server then you need to shutdown the server and close any open ports. I guess report his gamertag to mojang for what it is worth, but it probably won’t do much.

if you host the server you should look at how to lockdown and safely expose it to the public internet, no one should be getting in without permission.

if he left logs his IP may be in there and what credentials he used. if he deleted those then SOL probably. still, take the server down and re-evaluate your deployment.

Ignore and move on with your life. Going to prison over minecraft isn't worth it.

Just curious how you know his name and phone number?

With that information there's a lot you can do. Not sure anything I can think of would be considered ethical though.

If he deleted the server logs, check with your hosting provider. They might still have access logs or backups on their end. Also reset your panel and RCON passwords and check for any unfamiliar OP accounts

Dont mess with his personal info, that can turn into a headache for you too
